Re: missed the boat

I agree. Roberts bashing is the latest craze. He could beat three men and hit the top corner from 30 yards and you'd still probably hear "Greedy b*****d, he should have passed!!!"

Also, anyone noticed how it's always the wingers that get the most flack? First it was Russell, then Rory, and now Gazza.

And as to the original question. I believe it may have been a case of no loose change to get on the boat rather then missing it.

Re: missed the boat

I think we were all hoping that a new striker would be on his way, but i`ve no doubt that it would`nt have been for the lack of trying, we are a small club with limited funds, and rome wasn`t built in a day, so lets not dwell to much on it and lets get on with giving our support to the lads that are playing.

PS. Yes i would rather be at Lincoln instead of just getting in from work, but theres always the radio i guess.

Its The Way People Criticise players tho, As i have said before why do people shout "Gary Your F*cking S*hit!!!!"
I Agree with Criticism but ffs Kick em while their down

Why Not Encourage em by saying "Your Better Than That Gary"

Alot better and more encouragement

100% AGREE.. I think everyone is allowed there opinion on here about players.. good or bad so long as it isn't abuse.

But I have never agreed with attacking your own players from the terrace and in nearly 40 years of watching football I ahve NEVER booed a player.

Re: missed the boat

Quite agree Kipax. Shouting abuse during a game doesn't do anything to help the team. It doesn't make players improve. If anything, it makes the player perform less well.

The messageboard is a different thing. It's like a virtual pub, and I'm sure we've all been critical when we're down the pub chatting with friends.

I think the Argies went to whoever offered the lowest bid, why was Eric not in there waving his chequebook and £50 cheque guarantee card?

This year we'll play Forest, Watford, Brizzle Rovers, Walsall, Swindon, Peterborough etc etc Enjoy the Ride people. Get off the clubs back, bite your lip, encourage, volunteer, praise, shout, clap, generate ideas, invite friends & colleagues, be proud of YOUR local FOOTBALL team. Everything this season is a learning curve & everyone is trying their obvious best.

At the moment, in our town, their ain't much else to be proud about. But it saddnes me that five games in to our first year back I've heard fans slag the players off, players who created history & will forever be put on a pedestal for that.

We are Accrington Stanley & very proud of it! But at times it feels like we are supporting just for a moan :engsmil:

Coming in a bit late on this one, but very well said Jase !!!

THIRDED, particularly the bit about enjoying the ride.

Thought the reception at Lincoln last night was excellent.

One of the stewards was a Notts County fan, we should get a good reception there after the Forest result.

NOTTS COUNTY v ACCRINGTON, can't wait.

STANLEY ARE BACK

Re: missed the boat

I heard Steve Claridge on local radio this morning. He's 37 now and is a free agent. He's made 999 professional appearances so needs just one more for his thousand. He was hoping that Portsmouth might give him a game but would Coley consider him?

What a fickle buch some fans are, on Wednesday i could hear people during the opening 15mins having a right go at both the players and Coley, but how that changed when we started to play instead of just hoofing it forward, but what a display, lets see if we can keep it going today.
