Re: MK Dons away thread.
Dan Jewell just said 94 minutes gone and their keeper hasn't been forced into a meaningful save doesn't matter about missed chances, not making a keeper work to me is a dreadful performance home or away.

Re: MK Dons away thread.
Watching the game it appeared that one or two of our team were unfit.. others were content to let their team mates do the work..
MKD must have thought that all their birthdays had come at once.. particularly their Goalkeeper who was never under any threat ( until Mr M's glaring miss that is !).
The boot it anywhere game will only lead us in one direction I'm afraid .. back to playing football sooner than later Reds..?

Re: MK Dons away thread.
In our 5 league games played so far, our so-called 'strikers' haven't scored a single goal.
The stats today sum it up - 13 shots to their 12 - but only 2 on target!
5 corners to their 1 - though from our conversion rate from corners, 20 wouldn't have made any difference.
Despite all these facts we end up losing the game
Thank goodness for Butcher, Pell & Nottingham, because Bishop, Charles & Mumbongo continue to offer zero threat.

Coleman mentioned fitness after the Oldham game if this is the case after just 5 games something is seriously wrong, but your mention of players happy to let others do the work to me is really troublesome. That can look like being unfit but says more like they ain't a happy bunch, hearing certain rumours about argument,s in the camp have Coleman and Bell lost some of the dressing room.

Re: MK Dons away thread.
worst performance I’ve seen in a long long time.
no energy, no desire, no leaders.
Pell’s lack of discipline will let him down.
Summed it up at the end when Colby and Joel about 4 times in a row both went up for headers at same time. Players need to take responsibility and learn there roles in the team.
Why bring on Mumbongnoideahowtoplayfootball and move Dion to wing back?! Take the game to MK and play a 3-4-3.

When they made the substitution Dan Jewell mentioned Charles shrugged and pulled his face at having to move to wing back not a happy chappy, shows how weak we are for creative players in the squad when you repeatedly move our top scorer last season out wide and he,s clearly unhappy about it dressing room disharmony ?

Re: MK Dons away thread.
Just seen their first goal Mo Eisa Peterborough broke their transfer record to sign him, MK Dons also broke their transfer record to sign him probably earning 4+ more times the money any of our lads are on against the run of play on the stroke of half time picks the ball up at pace completely nutmegs Nottingham and although Trafford has the good keeper he his is quick off his line finds the exact spot with a beautiful finish. Unfortunately you gets what you pay for especially with a striker turned the game in their favour.

Re: MK Dons away thread.
Post match interview to be fair John hasn't blown his top just said it for me the difference was obviously taking chances teams that do generally finish in the higher reaches of what particular league they are in, let's hope something clicks sooner rather than later. Some quotes on Facebook from fans saying Mumbongo isn't good enough bit harsh on the young lad he,s not on his own in the striker department in that sense look,s big and strong and pacey a goal might just be the tonic he needs.

Re: MK Dons away thread.
First chance I've had to watch Stanley since lockdown and hugely disappointed. Charles and Mumbongo should have scored and we would have got something out of the game but that would have been papering over the cracks. No creativity in our play. Lump it into the box and hope for the best seemed to be the plan. Also concerned that the back three wandered all over the pitch with those they were marking leaving space for MK to exploit at the back which they did twice successfully and could have done a couple more times. Hope it was just a bad day and things improve next week.

When you play wing backs they have to defend but also be creative if they receive the ball,Clark made his debut but was sacrificed for Coleman,s usual Charles out to wing back which I find strange moving last season,s top scorer into a position I don't think he particularly likes. McConville to me isn't a wing back he,s more effective behind the strikers drifting wide. As for the back three Sykes has good a defender he his he lacks a supple pass likes to launch it, we need the back three to be finding the midfield more but unfortunately without Pritchard we lose all movement and creative play. Personally prefer Rodgers even though he is good in the back three as the right sided wing back and Pritchard on the left.

doubt bishop and charles have been flashes in the pan. more of a case of what all strikers go through at times, a lean period. they,ll end up notching a couple of goals in a game but contribute very little apart from that. its just how football seems to work.

Last season in a lot of post match interview,s Coleman wether he scored or not was full of praise for Colby on how he leads the line, hold,s the ball up etc: this season not a mention.

Can't understand why Charles keeps getting moved out to wingback when a substitution is made surly Charles is better deployed in and around the box harassing center half,s and close to the target, as for Colby he moved up the ladder with a big step always thought he's great when scoring but his general movement in the game and finding space or pace which he lacks aren't brilliant.
