I never implied they were 'flashes in the pan'.
Our 5 league goals are down to Butcher (2), Pell & Nottingham + 1 o/g.
Of course all strikers go through lean spells, but when all three are firing blanks, it's a lot more concerning.

C’mon, there’s been 5 games thus far. Coley has a few minutes immediately after the match to sum up the entire game. If he mentions three or four names, does that mean anything about the other seven or eight?
Couple of games at home I saw I thought Colby did well but didn’t score. However, Stanley won them (very narrowly) so there was no veiled criticism or suggestion of rumours in the camp.
But I do agree with you about McConville. He’s never been much good at defending and it’s more difficult for him to make those attacking passes/crosses (as he did for Charles on Saturday) if he’s having make up ground from being a full-back.

Agree often manager,s say things they regret when they have calmed down, what concerned me was after the Oldham game which incidentally on 90 minutes was a 4 match unbeaten run why suddenly bring fitness or lack of it up who was this aimed at or was it at players he doesn't really want to pick?

Re: MK Dons away thread.
We seem totally disjoined at times, will be glad when Seamus is back to help get the team all joined up.

yes, he has said stuff like that before but cannot wait to get his obvious preferred starting 11 out on the pitch together even when one or two are not really on form.

Probably a ring of truth to that but isn't it rediculous if you're not fully fit playing which in some game,s to me stood out last season.

Re: MK Dons away thread.
We all know how Coley picks his teams and a player being 70% does not come into it!
Cannot see him changing now, Seamus will be back next League game - fit, or not(my opinion!!)

mind you its a good reason to attend the papa johns games if you want to see different stanley players wearing the shirt. you read and hear about certain players having a decent game in that competition but are rarely seen outside of the warm up on the saturday after.

McConville to me isn't a wing back he,s more effective behind the strikers drifting wide. As for the back three Sykes has good a defender he his he lacks a supple pass likes to launch it, we need the back three to be finding the midfield more but unfortunately without Pritchard we lose all movement and creative play. Personally prefer Rodgers even though he is good in the back three as the right sided wing back and Pritchard on the left.

Therein hangs another tale Andy !..
It was difficult to decide firstly if Stanley's midfield had any sort of tactical plan to adhere to, and secondly if they had were they good enough to put it into action.
MKD's midfield were everything that Morgan and Co needed to be
which made the result an inevitable .
I won't use the term ' unfit for purpose' but the thought lingers on in my mind !..
My plea is still that The Reds somehow return to playing controlled and intended passing and attacking rather than the random booting of a ball which we witnessed on Saturday.. but still the battle-cry is :-
ON STANLEY !.. ON TO GREATER THINGS !!..

Re: MK Dons away thread.
Interesting move from MK Dons to use a defender to take goal kicks, passing the ball to their keeper. We never picked up on pressing the keeper giving them space to develop something from the back whereas we seem to have returned to booting the ball downfield and hoping we can pick something up from the first header. I did wonder what Mr Guardiola would think about his keeper being asked to play like that.
