Mk Dons reaction

This just came on setanta. . . .

Accrington Stanley assistant manager Jimmy Bell has blasted MK Dons assistant manager Ray Mathias after comments made on the MK Dons official website with regard to the state of the pitch in last night’s game at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

The comments came as the Dons overcame a dominant Accrington side in a bruising encounter to win the game in the 83rd minute through a Mark Wright goal.

The game erupted into chaos in the 90th minute after Accrington’s Leam Richardson knocked over Matthias while trying to take a throw, and Paul Ince and Stanley boss John Coleman both clashed before the latter was sent to the stands with his assistant.

Mathias has been quoted as saying: “Conditions weren’t good and it’s hard to play on a pitch where you can’t stand up.”

Bell hit back stating: “The pitch was playable and it is 1000x better compared to some we have played on this year. I do not understand why they are complaining when they won the game.”

Bell also commented on his sending off saying: “We will have to see what is in the assessor’s report before we attempt any kind of appeal. We were trying to be peace-makers so I cannot explain why we were sent to the stands while Paul Ince and Ray Mathias were allowed to remain in their dugout.”

This could get ugly!!!<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

To be fair, Matthias was on Radio Lancashire tonight saying that he thought that Coleman and Bell had been harshly treated. He seemed to be playing the whole thing down.

I reckon this latest incident may just have persuaded Eric to name the new stand after Coley. If he is going to spend so much time in it he might as well have all the seats in his name

If i was Matthiasa I would of said I was just taking a closer look at the ground.

I can see where the players are getting training for diving

Re: Mk Dons reaction

But just who were all those other MKD Tracksuited acolytes who Ince and Matthias had
brought along with them last night ?.....Minders???...Hitmen??...Winklemen???.
No wonder Leam had little or no room to take throw-ins !.

Is it time we created a Managers only zone, and kept the hangers on sat in the dug-out?
Or insist that a referee will not allow these so called 'Club Officials' to congregate on the touchline.or in Ince's case last night, on the field of play itself

In my opinion the 'spirit of the game' was totally lost last night !....and not by anything the players had done!..( Except 'the cheating DYER!!)

Alfred.E. and I are both a little worried by all this!!!

In all fairness he can afford to play the whole thing down as he isn't gonna be the one up on an FA charge for getting sent to the stands. You can be as nice as you like when it concerns someone else, I'm sure he'd be making a huge deal if it was him or m-incey!!!

In all 'fairness' Sparkie, and I'm sure that you'll agree!, anything to do with 'fairness' and 'fair play' , I'm sorry to say' ,just doesn't exist in the so-called 'professional make-up' of most 'win- at- all- cost' Managers and Players who we see week in- week out at the FES !!...And in the Premiership...and on Wilson's....and in Schoolboy and Junior Soccer (and isn't that a sad thing to say??).

Alfred.E. 's smile is not a very convincing one today !!...and I've been playing some Blues already!...because we're both a bit worried about it all!!

but.......'ON STANLEY!...ON !!'
