Re: More Former Clarets at Accy?

yeah from what I know Cookey and Grantona got on well while at Burnley.

I was disappointed to see him leave at the end of last season as I could still see him doing a good job from the bench but I expected him to end up in League one or Two.

Would be a fantastic signing, he held together the Burnley team last season- links up the defence and midfield very well.

Good luck to him and hopefully he will sign up at the IES!

Also- If somebody thinks that he is training to keep his fitness up I would have to disagree as Steve Cotterill offered all the players that he released the oppertunity to carry on training with Burnley until they found a new club.

Kev - "do a job from the bench"

Are you serious!!! He is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Championship and Burnley wanted to keep him, however he wanted too much money. He has had offers from Tranmere and an unamed Championship club.
I will be very surprised if he signs for Stanley because of the wages he will require. If he did sign for Stanley though he would be the best player in this league without a shadow of a dout.
Cant see it happening to be honest..... but ...... stranger things have happened :-)
