More Local Advertising For Stanley

Following on from my glee earlier in the season upon seeing the billboard in Accrington promoting a series of upcoming home games, I'm happy to report further investment in local advertising by the club.

Walking home from town this afternoon I saw a double-decker Pilkington bus with an advert for the Stanley share issue across the side; a spread bigger than Paul Mullin's forehead.

I'd just like to applaud again the people at the club who have arranged this and hope for more in the future. It must be effective for revenue. Well done. Keep it up.

Re: More Local Advertising For Stanley

I try to do my bit. Last week I posted oin a Bolton Wanderers forum about books on clubs & players. I asked 'What's the name of the chap who wrote a book about t'Stanley ? -- Ernie Something. Nobody came up with 'the fastest milkman in the West'. Bolton folk have not got our intellect. Is it with eating pigs' feet?

There's actually quite a few shops around town with a Buy A Share poster, maybe they aren't bus size so not worth mentioning

Well I would like to thank the shops and businesses around Accrington for helping Stanley Elite take shape. The people around town have been fabulous when I have approached them and we now have around 15 places committed to putting forward offers to members. I am confident the membership will be between 700 and a 1000 by the end of the month and double that by the end of Feb.

Well done to the club for pushing the share issue too. Advertising is a huge cost on such a tight budget so hats off to the club for their efforts.
