Just a reminder about tonight if anybody would like to join us.
Stanley supporters are being given the opportunity to tour the town’s Raza Jamia Masjid Mosque.
The £9 million religious building, which has been funded by donations from residents and businesses, has been hailed a ‘dream come true’ for members and elders of the local community.
All supporters are welcome to join the tour being offered as part of the Accrington Stanley Community Trust’s (ASCT) scheme to enhance engagement with the local community, the ‘Stanley Together’ project, on Wednesday 20th March.
The project will see the creation of a new focused fan-group and several outreach fan-engagement programmes, with the ASCT working with local schools, community centres and the new mosque to deliver a range of workshops to educate people on the history of Accrington Stanley and inspire them to attend matches at the Wham Stadium.
The 34,000 sq ft mosque, which is located between Grimshaw Street and Lower Antley Street, includes three prayer halls and a library, and the community centre features an Islamic funeral room, community facilities and dining areas.
It is hoped the community centre, which is open to everyone regardless of faith, will help with community cohesion.
Who: All supporters welcome.
When: Wednesday 20th March (7pm – 8pm).
Where: Raza Jamia Masjid Mosque, 39 Lower Antley Street, Accrington, BB5 0BA.
