murphy
after watching the burton match what is liam playing murphy for he spent most of the match on the floor looking for a foul after someone breathed on him and played the ball back towards goal from which they scored when it would have safer to give them a throw in

Re: murphy
He was poor when he came on vs barnet.
I am assuming its a bad run of form rather than poor ability, I dont think he is suited to the right back roll

Re: murphy
Its called no confidence in a diabolical goalkeeper, Admittedly Murphy isnt the most technical of footballers but hes got it, hes got what a 'Stanley Player' is.
Full Backs probably use the goalkeeper the most in a match but Murphy aint sure about Rachubka,
Rachubka is RUBBISH.

Re: murphy
Murphs come on leaps and bounds in the last eighteen months.
Dont forget he is still a young lad with plenty to learn but is getting better all the time.
Some fans only see the negatives and not the positives.
In the first half he did a job on there star player and still got forward, indeed on one occasion, played a one/two with Bocco, burst into the area, beat two men with fast feet, only to be denied with a last ditch toe tackle.
He also acts as a extra central defender and is rarely beaten in the air, still not reached his potential yet

Re: murphy
I also think Murphy has come on o.k. Had a crap match against Burton in my view, but who don't have em?

Re: murphy
For me Murph is one of those who generally give a 6 or 7 from 10 performance week in week out, and has probably suffered from his versatility as played in a number of positions.
Don't think he had his best game against Burton and for me would benefit from a rest for a game or two - look what effect something similar's had on Luke Joyce recently.

Re: murphy
I think Luke Joyces upturn in form, has more to do with his midfield partner, than having a rest.

Re: murphy
I must admit Rachubka was very poor against Burton. It was my first game so I'm hoping he picks himself up.

Redash, agree that playing alongside Linganzi has helped Joyce, but also feel those couple of matches he sat out helped focus his mind a little.
On subject of players coming in, Hatfield shows great energy and doesn't give defenders time on the ball as well as offering good when he's in possession, so his re-introduction has also helped the shape and balance of the team.

Re: murphy
Good point about Hatfield, he was also playing regularly at the beginning of the season.

Isn't a last minute equaliser at York a nice way to be proven wrong, Chippo.

To be honest he had another bad day at the office IMHO, But forgiven fer a equaliser we didn't deserve.

Re: murphy
Yes, Peter still didn't play too well at York but give him credit. His bravery today was second to none!!! After he got his nose "SPLATTERED" by a back header from a team mate in the first half he bravely got on with the job. I was really pleased when he bundled in the equaliser in front of the Stanley Faithful to give us a very important point at the death today. So a BIG well done to Peter today. Hope you are felling OK soon lad!
