National papers today

Has anybody been clever enough to spot in the national press today a half page advert for ITV?? ( will scan it and post it tomorrow AM)

Basically there's a green football pitch with various famous stands, eg: the Shed End, the Stretford End the Gol Nord Stand and THE WHINNEY HILL TERRACE!!!!

I wonder which researcher had the knowledge on that??? And more importantly how can we turn it to our advantage????

Over to you wise folks

Re: National papers today

not seen a paper today MR.T but if some P.R. person from the club were to contact ITV, using a bit of common, this could possibly be turned to advantage.

Re: National papers today

Fired off an email to 'em earlier, suggesting that as they'd used the name of our world-famous stand in their ad, they might make a modest contribution to the SOS fund. Also, pointed out that it would make a good human interest/Google Page Ranking story, from their point of view.

Unfortunately, received the standard rejection letter ("we receive a great many requests...unable to support your fund...blah, blah, blah").

Never mind, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Wynonie, did you contact ITV or did you contact the advertising agency? I don't think ITV would be much help - it would be their agency who produced this. I'm pretty sure that agency is BBH (Bartle Bogle Hegarty) or at least it was them six months ago. If it still is, they could be more helpful.

Right, cheers, mate, will email 'em tomorrow. Might ask if there's any jobs going, while I'm at it!

Re: National papers today

You could ask 'em if they're running off any T-shirts with the design on and if so, if Stanley could have some. It would be give more free publicity for ITV as well as some one-upmanship and publicity for Stanley over every other club from Div 2 to Championship. Or failing that, see if there is any of the original presentation artwork they could pass on. It could raise a few bob sold locally or on ebay.

Great idea Wyn !!....Incidentally, and with LOCAL Papers in mind, I was wondering if I was the only one to feel that it rather ominous to see Bob Lord's ugly phizog beaming out a sickening smile from Page 3 of tonight's 'Evening Telegraph '. ( Whose current logo is 'Save our Stanley!!)

This incongruity proved not only to unsettle me a little, but to also put Alfred.E. and I totally off our Beef Wellington !...

'See you tomorrow night ??'

'ON STANLEY !!>>>ON!!!'

If not ask them for a free licence to reproduce your own

Re: National papers today

Should do one that includes all the teams that have helped us.

This is it so far, plenty more stands to come hope fully.
