Nelson v FC United

I'm going tomorrow (Sunday) to see the mighty Nelson take on FC United of Manchester at the IES - 2pm kick-off. Its only £6.00 to go in (I think £3 for kids and OAP's). I hope some of you can make it along too.

I spoke to Nelson's secretary, who thought there would be between 2,500 and 3,000 there, which is great for non-league football at this level in East Lancs.

Also Stanley gain from it too, from renting out the ground to selling lots of pies and drinks, so come down!

I will be there and i agree that its good making money on drinks and etc...
but doesnt help the conditions of the pitch, as harwood are playing today then nelson tomorrow, then i think burnley reserves on wednesday (starts taking its toll) but well done to Antony Mallon (groundsman) for keeping it in good condition
But im sure Eric and Co know whats best for the club

I believe it's actually £7 for adults at this game - a bit of a leap from the usual charge for a North West Counties league game I think! Just hope the pitch is OK as Stanley now have a replay against Carshalton on Tuesday night

I'm planning on putting in an appearence......looking forward to it, but not the admission price, when u can usually watch a 2nd div game for £3/4.

I was stewarding today and the FCUOM fans were well behaved; as most of them were last time. The match was a good one of what i saw; entertaining football being played by the Reds.
Nelson got tubbed!

In general they were well behaved, although the stewards had to throw a couple of them out in the second half. Also they had to be told to 'get off the wall' a number of times, before they did!

A good game, just over 2,000 there (700 down on the Colne game), lots of Stanley fans there too, which was nice to see.

And FC United are back here again in two weeks time to play Great Harwood!

Plenty of Harwood in the crowd today, no doubt checking out the opposition.

I'd like to play United in a friendly, sure fire sell out and you will never hear the ground rock like it would on that occasion, sort it Rob. We could have it as a Clayton End Covered Stand official opening game maybe

Re: Nelson v FC United

Nice to see so much FC United of Manchester discussion on here

The message seems to be spreading far and wide.

In the last week we've had reports on Sky, Granada, Channel M and in three national newspapers.

Recently, we've been visited by journalists from France, Holland, Germany and Russia.

Thanks for making us all feel welcome today.
