New Accrington Stanley Official Website - Your Ideas

Hi All.
The club has began plans to rebuild the Accrington Stanley official website. (please see link for full story Accrington Stanley)

As users of the website, I would be delighted to hear your thoughts, suggestions and ideas for what you want to see on the new site and it will be more effective to incorporate at this early stage. A great amount of reseach has gone into the existing design brief, but I am always open for new ideas and possiblities and this forum seems to be the ideal platform for discussion.

I'll log back on next Friday (4th June) to collect the posted ideas.

as long as it doesn't go the way most football club websites were you have to pay x amount of money a month to view videos etc!! rip off!!

Shame, the preview looks like generic CSS template crap.

The new logo has a retro, understated class about it and yet the site is all gradients. A layout such as this Ctrl+Alt+Del with the styling of this The Independent | News | UK and Worldwide News | Newspaper would look and function brilliantly.

As for functionality keep everything there already is, it looks as if the previous result, next fixture feature has been dropped which is a shame.

Improve on current features by doing things such as grabbing stuff from wikipedia for the player profiles.

Use BBC feeds to update the fixtures/results automatically after a game rather than doing it manually.

Twitter/Facebook/RSS for all news/marketing.

Beyond your brief however a good feature for attracting the young fans would be to create some Stanley branded games.

Preview? SamF, are you basing all your comments on looking at that tiny half-a-screenshot in the fishy article which I can barely see, or am I missing something?

1. new modernised layout
2. more detailed player profiles
3. match pics (shouldnt really have stopped uploading them)
4. make it easier to navigate

Not enough in depth stuff about the players, what goes on in training etc.

I like the idea of commentary on away games which is something that was being looked at, player interviews using real player, more behind the scenes stuff on a day to day level.

Sometimes the site can go days without anything of any note appearing on the site

Needs to be kept fresh and up to date

match commentary would increase interest in the site, regular updates on all content.the current site is stale.definitely missing Kipax`s matchpics!!!!

Just update the info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sent an e-mail 12 moths ago and still things aren't updated.

Reserve results, contacts, positions etc

Pls check EVERY page and ensue they are correct!!

Start there and update DAILY, it's not rocket science, We'll leave that to King Coley

the club are/were still being supplied match and fan pics of the games - just haven't used them for the website.

stop using the News section just for asking or advertising. It seems as though the website only ever wants money off the fans.

Update every day

ensure that each page is current and accurate.

this (current) seasons stats available. I want to know at the push of a button how many yellow cards each player has, how many goals/appearances each one is on
