Re: new chief executive
CE or MD of a club the size of Stanley isn't a glamour position or one you do for the money. Rob will know you need to get your hands dirty operationally as the club has very few full time non-playing related staff.
Bringing up the ban is a bit petty, he has been punished severely and won't make the same mistake. Rob is a fan who will work very hard for the club so good luck to him.

Re: new chief executive
As Chewbacca says, this is far from the glamour position that it is at some clubs. Personally, I'm delighted to see Rob back and wish him every success in the job.

Re: new chief executive
Our new majority shareholder obviously isn't a mug when it comes to business, and success to his extent doesn't happen by chance. He won't take on anyone who would put his investment or, perhaps more importantly his reputation, at risk.
Also Rob is a good egg.
Good luck!

Re: new chief executive
Rob Heys is a decent bloke, i hope he does as good a job as he did before his severe punishment ban.

That's the point he didn't do a good job before the ban. As out of his depth as a deep sea diver with no equipment.

Some people don't realise how hard it is working at Accrington Stanley, trying to somehow make ends meet on a daily basis!
Now the club is going in the right direction and on a good financial footing let's just get behind everyone involved with the club!

Mr Matthew could you please inform us the fans, the areas where you think Rob failed to do a good job as C. E. or are you just referring to the betting issue alone, the only thing I personally know about Rob and his family is that they are always visible at both home away matches and are ardent supporters of Stanley,

Why should Jeg Red have known of this breach of FA rules? The CEO of a football league club, however, may have reasonably been expected to be aware of it.

Chris Mcgrail, the lying about the Accy Stanley fund. "We have the money", the lack of marketing initiative, the consistant lack of action to improve the off the pitch standing of the club, oversaw the massive betting scandal concerning the players, almost losing points another season re: eligibility of another player.
Need I go on? All under his watch.

Plus, I'm a fan. Have been since Hucknall at Home back in 2002 when Lutel got sent off. I'm also a decent bloke. Should I be Stanley number 9?

At the time Rob was first accused, I went onto the FA website to see if I could see the read the regulations. They were easily accessible and unambiguous. The least you should expect of anyone in a senior leadership capacity of any organisation, let alone a CEO is to understand the rules and regulations that govern their particular area of business or interest.
That he ultimately wants what's best for the club and works towards that is not in doubt. And I am in full agreement that the CEO role at our club is a difficult, hands-on role, given the financial constraints and is definitely not full of glamour.
My point is I doubted Rob's genuine ability in the role first time round. Betting (and it wasn't just one or two bets) when it's so clearly against FA rules is one thing, betting that our team would lose is something else entirely again - at best I find this distasteful. This is simply not the conduct I expect or want from someone who's running my club on a day to day basis. I would never but against my team and can't understand people who would do that.
People do change and many of us learn from our mistakes. I feel Rob had a perfect opportunity in his words yesterday to say how he'd changed, what he'd learned and what he'll do differently this time. He didn't take that opportunity which says to me, no matter how well intentioned he is, and he is, in my opinion, he lacks the judgement and leadership skills to lead the club on a day to day basis.
