Re: New Kit

I was aware of the suggested change via the Supporters Club two or three months back but felt it wasn’t for me to discus the issue further. Maybe now we’re a League Club once again (Thank you Stanley) we could get an official Newsletter going for our away supporters, or better still an online monthly update on the official site.

At the Supporters' Club Meeting of Feb 13th , with 22 Members present , I asked the three Directors who were present why our Dublin Branch Members (amongst others) were experiencing difficulties in obtaining shirts.

We received a full and frank explanation which , it was then felt , was a little too full and frank.
The Directors asked us not to divulge certain parts of the information and, like responsible adults , we agreed.

It's all too easy to gain cheap points by going around saying " I know a secret and I'm not gonna tell you it , nah nah na nah nah - oh, alright then, I will".

The Supporters' Club retains the confidence of ASFC because , when asked to keep something quiet , it does.

And that's why Supporters' Club Members often find out what's happening rather earlier than some others.

Re: New Kit

I miss the days when all club business was discussed on Accrington Fish Market.

Maybe I'm not cut out to be a supporter of a league club?

I empathise, TM.

If only football could have continued without advertising, sponsorship, replica kits etc.

Personally, I blame that Jimmy Hill for making players expect more than £20 a week .

I think the stewards should be kept away from the team as they come out of the changing rooms, especialy those rubbing them up and down with velcro.

have you read the thread... the world and his dog knows about it... as a secret it leaves a lot to be desired... maybe half a dozen people didnt know.. (i can only see three but i do tend to exagerate)

is it really that important? its like keeping a pregnancy secret.... i mean everyone was gonna find out wasnt they so whats the point?

I never thought you were Jimbo .

It was just an explanation of why we've been quiet on the matter.

As far as I'm aware it hasn't even been mentioned on the Supporters' Club forum , either.

If the Club's Directors ask us not to broadcast confidential information then we respect that request.

Happy Easter !
