New Shirt Sponser for next season
See fishy site.
On the one hand, this could be a great opportunity to push the Stanley brand and perhaps pick up a nationally known sponser which could raise our profile.
On the other hand, a chairman who's spent all season whinging about the gates won't exactly have the sponsers queueing up (and I wonder if that's why Fraser Eagle are pulling out).
Does this mean another new mascot? Personally, I'd rather we didn't have one at all, unless we go for a roly-poly figure of fun (has Graham Branch got another club yet?).
And does anyone else think the way the story is written on the fishy site makes us look thoroughly tinpot?

Re: New Shirt Sponser for next season
Hmmmm shirt sponsers pulling out seems to be a recurring theme around here. Remember HBC???
Best get something sorted quick , or methinks it'll be EW Cartons again.

Re: New Shirt Sponser for next season
Anyone fancy having Pafilia Property Developers on the front of the shirts? Peterborough had MRI... might have a word with the MD..

Yes but no doubt 3 weeks later the new shirt sponser will have fallen off the front of the shirt like the last one.

Re: New Shirt Sponser for next season
words fail me on this one. How can we have a signed contract with someone worth £3/4M and not know the ins and outs of it?
This leaves us with around 7 weeks to design, approve and manufacture new kits in time for the friendlies. Maybe we won't have one? maybe we won't have a sponsor?
To be honest, someone has dropped a major bollock here and should be held accountable for one of the biggest errors I have known at this club.

I would suggest the shirt design is all sorted and to drop a company logo on would take no time at all.

It was only a matter of time. Nothing surprises me now.

Re: New Shirt Sponser for next season
This really is quite a shock, to say the least!
I could of understood if Fraser eagle had pulled out at the end of the season, lets face it we havent exactly been the best advert for them (on the pitch), but to leave it this late is not really fair on the club IMHO.
I am a little suprised that they are legally allowed to pull out af a contract, but then again I am not an expert on these things, I guess they must have had a 'get out' clause which they chose to implement.
I wonder if the 'money saving' ( I am assuming thats what it was!) that the club did at the end of season run in ie NOT re badging the players shirts with the sponsors logo etc has cost us more than we saved?
I know this is purely conjecture on my behalf, but it would b nice, just for once, if the fans were told the WHOLE truth behind FE's decision to pull out................wont hold my breath though!!

Agreed, most Conference sides seem to be run a lot more efficiently and professionally I'm sorry to say.

Re: New Shirt Sponser for next season
pardon me for butting in on your board but it does seem a little weird that a sponsor either pulls out at this point in time or that the club has somehow forgot about a deal it has done with a sponsor. also it doesn't look good if you have even less money to attract players! hope you get something sorted! but i still hope we get 6 points off you next season!

Reading the statement on the club's site, it doesn't sound like they pulled out, merely that they didn't extend their exisiting deal, which someone at the club assumed was going to roll on after the initial two years.
As macca said, someone somewhere has dropped the biggest you-know-what possible here. I would presume that the buck stops with the Chief Executive?
Either way, unless something can be sorted very quickly, it's bound to impact on our playing budget, and perhaps our aspirations for next season ought to go no further than third bottom now.

Re: New Shirt Sponser for next season
Hindsight's an easy thing, but if the shirt contract was due for renewal, shouldn't the big wigs at the club have been talking to FE long before now? Maybe trying to persuade them to renew the deal, giving them a little presentation about future plans etc? And if they wouldn't change their mind, at least the club would have had a reasonable amount of time to rustle up a new sponsor.
If we don't find a new sponsor, it's not just the playing budget it'll impact on, where are we going to find the money for the new stand?

Has Fraser Eagle pulled out? Or has the club not understood the contract? The statement on the fishy site says "The club was under the impression that...". How can that be? What is an "impression"? Either we know or we don't.
