Re: New Sponsor?

I was going along with Doug's simple, easy to remember suggestion until I saw smobile's 'Colane Crown Ground' idea. If the sponsors are happy to go with that then it seems the best option.

It's a football ground not an ancient monument

Re: New Sponsor?

Colane Tropical mineral waters ltd park. If it was my company and I was paying. But as a supporter Colane crown ground is about right. It wasnt interlink stadium and Fraser stadium was it? Company name is surely what its about for maximum exposure for the sponsors. Whats st james called now? the sports direct arena. Not paying for chuff all are they?

Re: New Sponsor?

I'm not against the "Colane Crown Ground" but I was under the impression that parting with hard earned cash on a sponsorship deal meant you had the opportunity to exploit you name, goods, services in a way the maximise your investment.

In the new world vision for Accrington Stanley would it not be prudent to distance ourselves from the recent past and create a new vista for the club that meets the company's aims and having a degree of input ourselves; we've come up with three or four suggestions in what I have to say is a very restrained response to this offer.

We have to think deeper if we are going to exploit this opportunity without giving somebody else from outside the opportunity to come in and floating some cheap tacky slogan that’s media savvy.

The Crown Ground is Historically our home and will remain the grounds name for most of us regardless of any deal until it's levelled and like Peel Park fades in to a memory. Let's embrace this opportunity and come up with a least 9 or 10 variations that look forward and will tempt the company.

My two bob's worth.

Colane Park.

Colane Community Stadium.

Agree will always be the crown ground to the man paying at the turnstiles. But on sky sports, football league show and computer games fifa 13, football manager, champ manager and national and local papers match reviews etc etc its giving advertisement for the brand name to the company who is stumping up cash to support the local team whilst also gaining national and international recognition through the most watched sport worldwide. And obviously that should be the selling point from the asfc marketing team. If they said it has to contain crown ground I honestly cant imagine a look-in.

The suggestions above seem good.

Re: New Sponsor?

Just a little update for you all....

We had a meeting with the club today regarding the advertising around the ground so I thought it would be the best time to bring up what the grounds going to be called... Rob Heys and everyone we have asked have agreed that Colane Park is the best option so well done Doug!! I understand that alot of you wanted the Colane Crown ground but as a company its just not viable because there has been a considerable amount of money put into this and obviously we want to have as much exposure as possible... we believe and Rob Heys agrees that adding the 'crown' takes away what we are trying to achieve.

We hope that it doesn't dishearten some of you too much, we have tried to include the fans in this decision as much as possible and as you now know it was someone from this forum who's suggestion has got the final thumbs up. We just hope that you are all happy with the final decision and we hope to be able to work with the fans in any future plans that we have for the club.

So get yourselves to The Colane Park on the 17th against Torquay, try out some of our water and fruit juices, get behind the team and hopefully get a win which would be the perfect start to what we believe will be a long and exciting partnership with the club and its fans.

On Stanley On!!!
