Newcastle united team news !!
Has Chris Hughton got a death-wish ?...is he underestimating The Reds ?...is he more interested in Premiership survival ? Has he never heard of JC and JB ?....any opinions on this snippet from today's NUFC Website ->
Fringe Stars Get Chance To Impress
By Dan King
Chris Hughton plans to give some of his fringe players some action at Accrington on Wednesday - but he insists that the Carling Cup is a tournament that Newcastle are taking seriously this season.
The Magpies manager will make changes from the side which thrashed Aston Villa 6-0 on Sunday, but Hughton will still be setting out a side he believes can win against the League Two side.
"For us, it's important but it's also an opportunity for us to play a lot of the young lads, Hughton told nufcTV, who is likely to call upon the likes of Haris Vuckic, James Tavernier and Ryan Donaldson alongside some senior players as Barclays Premier League survival remains the priority.
"We will send a completely different team down to Accrington. We felt it would be the right thing to do with where we are, and it's also part of the development of some of the young players we've got. "It gives them an opportunity to play games that they'd find very difficult otherwise."
He doesn't seem to be taking it too seriously methinks !...so GO AND GET 'EM YOU REDS !!.

Re: Newcastle united team news !!
scott why the negativity? no one on here has said we'll lose 5-0 or that if we lose even spectacularly, that they intend to moan about it.
If you don't like it on here, where we offer a dose of realism and the opportunity to put forward your veiws in an adult and sensible manner then by all means crawl back to the sweetness and rose tinted happy hour that is the ultras forum (not that I have anything against the ultras forum, i am a regular reader in fact!) for your stress free online life!!
Just a suggestion!!

Re: Newcastle united team news !!
Play tonight Stanley like it was the last game of the season and promotion; JC and the Team have proven in the past that no club is bigger than Accrington Stanley when the bloods up......We've nothing to lose tonight; but everything to Win. Play up and battle on.
Good Luck Tonight Lads....
On, Stanley On!

Re: Newcastle united team news !!
Newcastle are showing a total lack of respect for Stanley, and for the competition as a whole. It might mean very little to the overpaid Premiership players, but it's everything to our up and coming young players.
Let's go out and prove to them it's about football, not simply a run out for their over paid second string. Come on Stanley !!

Further evidence..from todays Daily Star (Marginally better journalistically than the Lancashire Telegraph ?)....
CHRIS HUGHTON is prepared to risk a massive Carling Cup upset at Accrington tonight – by resting all 11 players who started Newcastle’s 6-0 win over Aston Villa.
The Geordies still have chilling *memories of being sent crashing out of cup competitions by non-League Bedford in 1964 and Hereford in 1972.
And, while Accrington Stanley are now in their fourth season back in the Football League, a home win at the tiny Crown Ground would rank alongside those *previous humiliations for the Toon.
Hughton, however, has sufficient faith in the club’s young players to feel *confident Newcastle won’t be shocked – as they were last year by defeat in the third round at Peterborough.
Hughton said: “It is a risk, but the team I send out will be picked for a *combination of reasons.
“What we don’t want to do is give *Accrington or the competition a lack of respect – but we are stretched in certain areas, particularly defence.
“We do have to look after our own *business and consider Saturday’s match at Wolves. That will be reflected.”
Youngsters such as keeper Tim Krul, Kaz LuaLua, James Tavernier, Tamas Kadar and Haris Vuckic are all handed rare first-team outings tonight.
Slovenian Vuckic, 18, is being tracked by Manchester United. Hughton added: “He is a talented boy and an exciting prospect.
“We are looking *forward to seeing him play and believe he has a bright future.
“I have faith in these young players and, if I did not think we could win this game with them involved, I would not make these changes.”
Accrington boss John *Coleman does have links to the Toon, as he knows Kevin Nolan’s family and played with Ryan Taylor’s dad.
Coleman said: “There will be a bit of banter with them. It’s always nice to see the lads do well.”
To be taken with more than a pinch of salt Cashy ??
