Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
Make sure that if your travelling you have a ticket. Won't know until Monday IF there will be sales on the day!! No it hasn't sold out (sadly!!) but Leeds have't told us what their plans are!!
Glad "next week" isn't just my timescale!!
I've told them we'll sell at Accy until around lunchtime on Tuesday.

Showing your age pal, Ayersome Park has been a housing estate for about 25 years!!
Agree with the sentiment though i think we can get a result at Leeds, seem to be in a similar situation as Boro were last year with lots revolting fans (unhappy i mean not horrible )

Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
Pity there are no replays or we could try and hang on for a draw at their place and then give em a stuffing back at Peel Park

Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
It looks as though the thoughts on last night's game have gone into the Naismith thread. He was so awful that he doesn't deserve so much attention. He cannot dribble, is unwilling to pass, and rarely defends. I cannot imagine what Bury see in him.
But what about the others? I thought that we played admirably. Even after the second Leeds goal (gifted to them by that player already mentioned), the heads didn't drop. At times it was a struggle - Leeds were quick and well organised. Having said that, I cannot recall our keeper having to make a save. He stood little chance with the goals. In the second half, we coped better with five in midfield and we created some good chances. I was not overimpressed by Mustoe - he is certainly not as quick as Lidds (or Tiddle as the Leeds screen said) and Alabi worked very hard. He deserved a goal after some neat footwork in the Leeds penalty area. With just one exception, a very pleasing performance.

Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
Although we played two up top,I still think their centre halves dominated us in the air,the difference in the second half was we picked up the second balls.
Must admit I was a little worried about three at the back,as it normally turns into a back five.
This didn't happen as Tom and Dean played with width, but got around Rob,allowing him to play his normal game when defending.
Big decision on Saturday because Rob was excellent in the second half.

Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
Well my two pence worth.......
Let's get a little perspective and remember we where playing the European Cup Semi Finalists from 10 years ago...... BUT.....
Make no mistake we where VERY poor in the first 45 minutes. Alabi looked like he had treacle on his feet for the first 60 minutes. Yes he improved in the last 20-25 along with everyone else, but is he ready for L2 football?? Jury is out for me at the moment.
As others have already said, Naismith was pretty dire too. Maybe his head has been turned by more cash at Gigg Lane, or maybe he just had another off night? Only thing I know is that he was rightly hauled off at the break.
Hunt......... Great player and super pro, but does he have the legs to play 90 minutes in the middle of the park??? For me.... No. He was knackered after an hour, and that for me is a key position where we need to address.
Second half was better, Atkinson coming on made a huge difference to Buxton (my m.o.m) , who then could bomb on down the right flank. The same with Mustoe on the Left. (who I thought did pretty good for a debut). Along with Hatfield who for me, makes such a huge difference in our attacking play.
Windass again showed some quality and could be the stand out player in what looks a pretty average side at the moment.
With two more tough away fixtures to come its not an easy start thats for sure.
My team for Cheltenham away.......
.............................Simpson.............. ....
...........Winnard.......Atkinson.........Aldred.
Hunt.............................................. ...Mustoe.
..................Windass........Buxton........... .........
.......Mingoia...............................Hatfi eld.................
..............................Gray................ ...............

Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
Whilst we were no where near as good in the first half Smudge, I thought we created as many or more chances than Leeds, The difference was they scored em, in fact there second was down to the man we took off. also we should have had a certain penalty after 15 mins, so the old European semi-finalists weren't so great, though the second was a class goal.

Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
That's bordering on 3-4-3 smudgie, man utds new managers preferred line up.
Don't think we have the type of player for one up top,so i would go 3-4-1-2,with maybe Hatfield/windass behind the front two
Hunty and mingola in centre, and the same wing backs (both can attack and defend )

Re: Nice and Early Leeds United thread......
I would play the team that played the second half at leeds in the same formation, think they earned that right.
