Well to be honest, given the fact (as ive said before) we aint got a prolific goalscorer this season, I aint really had much idea were any of our goals would come from? But they have, just not at this moment. But convinced they will come again, Couldn't really careless were from.

What an arrogant attack on this poor man!
It doesn't matter how long the guy's been watching Stanley he's still entitled to his view and doesn't deserve the abuse he's received.
Tell him he's wrong by all means but leave out the "Whinger and Mole" attacks. After all Stanley supposedly prides itself on being a friendly club.
Healthy debate can bring people together but abuse is only likely to alienate people when the club needs all the support it can get,
And by the way. First Stanley game attended 1970 v Formby. I know all about the highs and lows of supporting this unique football club.

You may be right but presumably you missed part of the first post, could it be that the ones with the strongest words feel slightly aggrieved that they are being classed as twerps, they may not actually hold the drumsticks but they are part of the same group that puts some life in to it

Re: Nice and early Port Vale match thread.......
Very interesting to read all these comments when all I wanted to do was make a point, not stir up a wasps nest and cause aggro!
For the record since April 2010 I have attended every home game I have been able to, plus some away games. When I go to home games I sit as far away from the drums as possible, simply to avoid a headache. I would go to more away games but I have to stand near the din - so I don't bother. My wife came with me to Morecambe and not only did we have the din to put up with but some stupid twits decided that we all needed large flags etc placed around us. Given the high winds that day we thought that this was downright stupid.
As far as I am concerned if you need the help of drums to create an atmosphere there is something wrong with the football. I am not the only person who finds the loud drumming annoying, plenty of others have made the same comment to me.
Now whether folk think I am a whinger, or not, I really do not care, because I have been around far too long and I am too thick skinned to worry. I have simply made my point and I just hope that your faith in Mr Cook is not in vain.
Finally, I have lived all over the country and since 1958 and seen a lot of football in that time. Although I am not from Lancashire, my wife is, having been born and bred in the Ribble Valley. She and all her family and friends are the most friendly and welcoming people I have ever met. Sorry if I have upset some of her fellow Lancastrians.
The "malcolm the mole" username refers to the fact that I am a genealogist (for the benefit of Cashman who might not know, it means a Family Historian), and it is an username I use elsewhere and was the only thing that this forum would accept. I suppose that reflects the popularity of this forum at least.

Re: Nice and early Port Vale match thread.......
Just one further point before I sign off for good. Mr Coleman made the point after he left that when the club were top of the conference they were getting twice as many attending as they do now. Given the current financial climate, which is bound to have an affect, I have to wonder how many people are in fact put off by the drumming. Did the drumming exist in 2005? Just a thought to mull over.

Re: Nice and early Port Vale match thread.......
I shall probably be at the game on Saturday, complete with Aspirin, and will be optimistic and hope for the best.
I think I have caused enough friction on here, so I thought I would sign off.
Good luck to the team and the management.
