Real test tomorrow against a team bang in form

Should be a cracking atmosphere with good numbers from the Valiants

I think F19 has called it right in that Vale will fly out of the blocks and we need to be tight at the back looking forward to a good game and a chance to put us back in the right direction.

Re: Nice and early Port Vale match thread.......

Hello to all Stanley fans,

I'm a Vale supporter and I've registered on here purely to post a big thank you and to acknowledge my respect for Accrington Stanley as a club. Your gesture in asking our current 'board' to stay away from Saturday's game has been massively well received by us Vale fans and is really appreciated.

Our 'board' and a number of its former members are of questionable character and their actions have bought our club to its knees. I'm sure you can appreciate just how bad they must have been when you look at how your club can compete in League 2 and remain solvent when we can't - staggering when you consider our average gates, our ground and potential commercial income.

The folk who run your club appear to be a sterling bunch who do a solid job of managing the resources available. If so, appreciate their efforts and do your best to avoid charlatans getting hold of your club like they have ours.

All that said, we really could do with the three points available - we might need them to stay in the league!!

All the best.

I rather hoped that the smilies would have indicated that I was being flippant.

I'll be suprised if Murphy is in the back four today, maybe he will sit in front of it. Even though it's a home match the depletion of the team through injuries means a tough game, they need to stop the rot and avoid defeat. Winning will be a bonus.

Currently out injured, going for a scan on Monday. Personally I'd love him to go back to Stanley. He's played more games for Macc than he did for Accrington but i don't enjoy watching them half as much.

Rochdale have been the better side for a good of the first half against Sheffield Wednesday but the Sheffield have missed had more good chances missed. One chance was thwarted by a sublime tackle from Long.
