Surprised he's gone to Mansfield as I thought he may have gone abroad for a last pay day.

Wrong.
His wages didn't fit as he was given a contract the club could barely afford courtesy of the best manager ever James beattie.

Re: Nicky Hunt
He played towards the end of the season in his correct defensive position.
Not in central midfield like he did for Beattie which was a disaster.

Re: Nicky Hunt
There lots of talk on here about player's wages but I suspect, like in many instances, it's mainly based on assumption and rumour, rather than fact.
I don't know (nor particularly care) what people I work with are earning.
Just out of interest, Davo, can you let us all in on how you seem to know just how much particular Stanley players are/were earning. I'm not doubting you know such things, but what exactly is the source of your facts. Do you happen to work for HMRC in Bootle by any chance?

He also sat wi us at n away game and was certainly not injured along wi another player who was, That was under the messiah. By the way whatever Hunt was on, why did Luke Joyce get offered a worse deal?

An ex Prem player won't have been paid peanuts and our chairman has already admitted BEattie had our largest ever budget. A scholar and a gentleman and a half decent player. However if we can get two young lads in for the same wages it's a no brainier.

It's only a no brainier (sic) if the "two young lads" are collectively as good as the player they are replacing.
Do we actually want "young lads" to fill these important defensive positions? We've already signed an untried centre back.
