I've just spotted this post, AccyRed, after I'd made similar observations on another thread.
Please accept my apologies if it appears that I've been plagiarising your contribution. I haven't .
I suppose that it's just so obvious to some of us , and we still have our wits about us and can remember things that went on more than six months ago.

Re: No bums at Burtons
How come you blokes don't moan when going to Gravesend, York etc etc which don't have a roof over the away end. Give 'em a break for gods sake. I personally would take the upgrades for league football over the roof everyday. However, as others have said, the roof should be erected soonest to increase the atmosphere from the home supporters. As for seating for the away fans, I was under the impression that a grant had been provisionally applied for from the FA (or whoever), to assist with a new stand on the Whinney Hill side, which I believe has had plans passed for it, because in the next 3 years we have to increase seating at the stadium to upwards of 3,000 I think, maybe even 5,000

Because they never told us there would be one.
The point isnt that theres no roof.. hence why no one complained years ago.. The point is theres no roof when told there would be one..

Whinney hill was mentioned at meeting other night, but there are no plans for redevelopment in near future!

But three and a half years ago we weren't told that in April 2006 we'd be on the verge of promotion back to the Football League .
Want to swop ?

Certainly not, but surely they're not mutually exclusive, or would the roof be built if we weren't going up?
Probably the club has struck a balance, a business plan, with a view to maximising income, fair enough. But that would seem to be where the club (any club), and its supporters' views start to diverge, to varying degrees.
Personally I'd put a roof, and the increased atmosphere that would lead to, above a pint and a burger. It will be interesting to see how the new pricing structure reflects on the proposed changes.
[Just for the record, any sign of the "Golden Arches", and I'm off]

Ynorically (as they say in Accrington) it might actually have been - or might still be - the case that in the event of Stanley not going up we would, indeed, have the new Clayton End Roof.
And as for the infamous Golden Arches, with the current shortage of seating I think you're more likely to suffer from Fallen Arches

Re: No bums at Burtons
A quick survey of League 2 prices seems to indicate that uncovered standing is in short supply, Barnet @ £11 is the only definite sighting.
Food for thought.
