no soul

Not long ago I moaned about our ground . Small groud , no future plans for stands ect .. But after going to spotland , seeing the 3 stands and 1 terraced side , Ive changed my view . Spotland is a soulless place , just like Gigglane is . The FES may be small and tinnie but you get a feeling of belonging to the club , being part of it you may say . Think thats what I miss about being nonleague , small grounds but great banter , nearer the pitch , no hassel ticket wise unlike Rochdale . Bloody murder trying to buy a concession ticket , sent to ticket office first then told to pay at turnstile . Worst then old trafford . Bloody brews where horrid , lass i was with got her lip stuck to cup it was that hot and tastless .

Re: no soul

I think hell just froze over!
DM saying something vaguely positive about Stanley!
Still had a moan though.
Went to Rochdale and can honestly say i never had any problems with the ground or anything(apart from some idiot stewards!)
Anyway keep it up you may make some friends round here afterall.

Re: no soul

the 'soul' at the FES (Crown) is the fact that a lot of what you see is the product of the blood, sweat and tears put in over the years by the fans themselves and the fac tthat it has had to be built block by block as money allows. The bigger grounds you see that spring up over the course of a few months have been 'bought' off the shelf and built to a formula rather than ad hoc.

Give me the Crown over Gigg Lane any day!

Re: no soul

Know what you mean about souless grounds. Just hope that our new ground Morecambe Stadium - WELCOME TO THE FUTURE - Morecambe FC | Morecambe Football Club | Morecambe new ground | Morecambe stadium | new ground stadium Morecambe | Morecambe regeneration | Westgate development | New football grounds | New stadium designs has a bit of character.

Whatever happened to the proposed new stadium for you guys? Leaving a ground that you've almost come to call 'home' is always a worry but sometimes to progress you have to move on.

Eric just happened to mention one in passing.

summat like if we want to progress tot he Chapions League we'll need a bigger clubhouse. Well similar anyway!!
