Re: Official accrington stanley supporters club
The OASSC meeting went very well tonight, we now have 357 members there was some Lengthy discussion on the progress of the football club with all the bad weather causing games to stack up. David Burgess the new MD attended and gave an update as to the clubs response to the flood problems. we have today took delivery of a pitch drying machine which is capable of sucking 20,000 litres of water pre hour from the pitch if needs be. There has been some dramatic improvement with the new drains working well. As from Tomorrow (Friday) machines will be on site on the outskirts of the ground clearing away the clay/soil that is causing water to run down onto the pitch, So there a lot of positive things happening at the club both on site and behind the scenes.
Nicky Symmonds from England supporters club and spoke about the possibility of an end of season game with our older players/supporters and England supporters to raise funds and raise the profile of the club. Nicky is an Accrington supporter. we have invited Nicky back to our next meeting on the 10th March to see how much we can progress this idea further along with other ideas. The New club shop in the inside market opens officially on Monday 1st Feb, it is in the corner near the exit to Wilkinsons. The proposed opening hours are provisionally 09.00-16.00 we are looking for volunteers for the shop and to help fund raise in general, If you can spend a couple of hours at the shop or outside the ground selling badges/programs we will always welcome you. Murray has had a new updated fixture list printed to cover all the rearranged games pick one up at the ground. It would be great if a few more members could attend the meetings as it helps to put names to faces, If you have any skills of any sort you think could help please come along. This is only a very brief note of the meeting, There was so much to catch up on. The next meeting is on the 10th March 7.15 pm in the sports bar.
