That's good news, no change in the table for now but a lot of hard work ahead for the team. We need to keep above the current position, it gives us time to sort this situation out.

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
looking at the matches we have left, we have to make the most of the home matches, because potentially we can win at least 5 of them and gain a couple of draws! Of the away matches, I can see us only picking up one win and maybe if lucky a couple of draws. - so another 22 points estimated. Lets see. The only problem is that both Bury who play tomorrow and Rochdale are now 4 and 5 points above us which means regardless of what happens on Saturday against Lincoln we can only go down a place or two, dependant on what Macc, Boston and Wrexham do. What is worrying is that Macc's goal difference is now only 2 worse than our own!

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
So you reckon we are going to win 5 home matches eh? well how are we going to produce them when we aint produced a single goal scoring chance in our last two homes games, I fear the worst.

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
From the Darlo messageboard if it's any consolation:-
"The second half was abysmal and we were very lucky to get away with the win"
No it's not, I know!

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
Just got back from Darlo and I must say we were seriously unlucky not to get a point at least. Can`t say that Stanley played all that bad in the first half, they had a lot of possesion and created a few good chances then there were 2 moments of utter pooh when they just shot `emselves in the foot. It was horrific, suddenly the defence who had been performing quite well had a major brain fade then did it again. Young Shrek is a great reactor but I felt several times in this game he was slow to get back in buisness, I think that cost us one. Second half even before subs it was a Red takeover, Stanley were running passing a pressuring just like we`ve always wanted them to, the goal was always coming. Only one down it looked like only one team was gonna score next but unfortunately despite some great efforts and whiskers past the post, we never did. Pleuh.
Was a great finish to the game and the Ulras made the most of noising up the less than 1/4 full arena. The Stadium is fantastic but wasted on Darlo really, apparently it holds 25k but they`re never allowed more than 10 cos of parking or summat. Why build it like that ? the atmosphere would have been better half the size. The Stewards did keep telling us to sit down but they were very civil and pally about it and I`ve no complaints, no smoking in the stands so it was just slippers and no pipe. I was designated drummer for the evening so had a brill time, when they scored I just pretended I was Keith Moon playing for the Who live at Leeds, and it eased the pain slightly. Trouble is they did get fooled again.
Darlo fans we met in the bar were a decent sort and agreed the 2nd half was seat of the pants time for them, they all wished us well as we left.
Never mind, Stanley are looking a lot better and one day soon someone`s gonna get a thumping and after tonight you gotta belive it`s gonna be lincoln.
Heads Up Stanleyites everywhere, we`re staying up without a shadow, starting with 3 points on Sat.
Quick word on Jammie, can`t say he did a lot wrong tonight and did a couple of good things, please continue the upward trend Alan. Still not in my starting 11 if leam is available.
Boco still looked a yard or 2 short of pace but he tried a natty little overhead kick which would have us singing in our sleep if it had sneaked in.
What can you say, sometimes it`s better to get a real kicking than to play well and still lose, but everyone keep faith cos we`ve got everything we need to stay up, even our opposition have said it. We might not have got results against good teams but others are performing as bad against worse.
When it all pans out Stanley will come up on top. Don`t doubt it.
Roll on Saturday !

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
thanks Zero, kinda glad I couldn't make it as I hate empty stadiums. Notts County was bad and made me want to go back to little tin shacks like Canvey and Tamworth!
Glad to see we had a go at em and I really hope that Lincoln have now shot their loads and are ready for a Stanley spanking.

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
The Stadium was fantastic.
A sight to behold.
But we rattled round like 90 peas in a 40 gallon drum.

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
Forgot to mention the Big drum wouldn`t fit through the turnstiles so had to go thru the industrial entrance.
Don`t go to Darlo if you`ve had too many pies.

Rodgers was our star player, scoring 8, according to the Darlington Mad website. Don't let the shorts put you off!

Yea? but then again according to the League Paper at the weekend he scored a 7 against Stockport whilst they only gave Tony Grant a 4 - couldn't work that one out

Re: Official Darlington Match Thread
why keep blaming keepers does that mean every keeper that plays for stanley is bad .there just so nervous cause the defence is so bad lets make the keepers the scapegoats. but everybody else is immune to criticism.
