Re: Official new kit pictures
It's not that I dislike either of the shirts particularly, although I will confess to being really dissappointed when I first saw them last week and I will admit they're both growing on me now!!
For me the club has missed out on 2 things with these, one is the chance for the fans to choose their own kit as a couple of other clubs have been giving their fans the chance to. Iswich gave their fans three options and asked them to choose either by text or e-mail. I don't see the club only being given the choice of 1 design/colourway to choose from, surely they have some say in it, and could have opened that say up to the fans. Maybe next year!!!
But the second thing for me is slightly more important. I don't think people would disagree with me saying that last seasons kits were the nicest we've had for a while, but for some reason the team repeatedly looked shabby at away games, when forced to wear the red home shirt, blue away shorts and red home socks, coz the other team clashed with our white shorts. Personally I think (and it is only my opinion) that if we have messed with the colour of the shirt this season (red and black as opposed to red and white) why keep the source of last years kit troubles, the white shorts!!! Why not either change them to black as well, or leave the shirt red and white and have black or red shorts instead? All of these combinations have been used in the past so why not make it make more sense.
Just an observation!!!

And a good observation Sparky. I made the same point to the girl in the shop on Saturday. She mentioned the socks for the away kit which give me a sickening shudder, imagine, the home shirt coupled with the away shorts and socks or god forbid the reverse.

Rob and Lew well it's all gone quiet over there !!!
Don't worry we will buy the shirts because we are Stanley fans but please can we have some input next season or I will get Trinny and Susannah from What Not To Wear on the phone.

Re: Official new kit pictures
Idea of getting to pick a specific design is not a bad idea a least then the supporters feel they are having an input and from the clubs point of view they get to gauge supporters opinions. Would also be nice to come up with something celebratory to perhaps mark the forty years since the reformation of the mighty Stanley.

Re: Official new kit pictures
Well, now its calmed down slightly it's good to see and read the reaction of all of you. To be fair I'm delighted with people's opinions of the kit, the supporters who I spoke to on Friday and Saturday, liked it especially the away kit.
So a big thank you to all those supporters who made the trip to help raise money for the club and continue to do so season after season. Its sometimes easy to forget that we have no Roman Abramovic and so merchandise is the life blood of the club. Again cheers to all those who have or will come and pick up a shirt, Every penny counts.
