Just sobered up, I think! Finished the evening by singing "dream the impossible dream" through my megaphone in a crowded Kebab shop on Friargate in Preston, the locals didn't know what they were looking at, but smiled politely.... two Preston fans had watched the game & wished me well.
The display went well, & the Terrace looked awesome (see
www.kipax.com) busy, noisy, colourful; it had the lot! Cracking atmosphere helped by a noisy contingent from Morecambe. Only realised they were noisy was from a re-run, but hey they were. Good to see over 3000 at the IES, when you consider that 380 occupied a good third of the ground it was easy to see why it was jam packed. Thanks to everyone who helped to create a wonderful spectacle in the Clayton End
On the pitch, Toddy & Mullins goals were crackers & killed the game in the space of a few minutes. Everyone again played well, except Mangan who seems to be "snatching" at the opportunities that come his way. Don't know about you lot, but really don't know how we've got in this position after selling Rory & Evil & having a "bare bones" of a squad! Who'd have thought after the Worcester game eh? I remember a few saying Coley had "took us...." (you know what they said!) & we'd shipped out Flynny & Psycho. In football a funny ol game
Don't really care too much about a Morecambe perceptive & I touched on it in a previous thread. "Hate Stanley", don't think so, we enjoyed Table Football with "Wiggy" in the Crown & have encountered Morecambe at services over the course of the season & always had a friendly encounter. Probably a new "breed" of Morecambe fan that start the Hate Stanley chants (they sing it in the middle of their "Barmey Army song....strange!) They definately got a core of singers that never had in the first season & remember travelling for a Lancs Cup game & never got one song from the North Bank. That would never happen at IES, never, we sang at GLS Cup Games. Hope that they do go up mind, but think that only Perks would get in our team which is testemant to Coley!
We still not there though & we all need to do our bit this Saturday & help the boys to victory, 30 odd points to go & all still to play for!
