Re: OSC Open Day.
Right current state of affairs:
have just spoken to the grant people and we will not be having our application heard until 23rd March, then it may take up to two weeks to have the funds transferred into our bank account, if we get approved.
we need a plan B. OSC meeting next monday is going to have to approve a spend level of x amount in order for this open day to go ahead. Everybody who is a member and wants this open day to proceed needs to be at the meeting to ensure the vote goes through.
Has anybody got anything concrete yet on anything they are chasing?

Re: OSC Open Day.
thanks mods. I didn't see any kind of threat I think Phil was getting at the lack of help from people who have plenty to say rather than anything else, but can we please keep this thread for what it is intended.
Has anybody got anything they can contribute to this day? can you all see if you have enough clutter for a car boot sale? can people offer their services for the day with stalls, stewarding, clean up operation, raffle prizes for the evening do?
anybody got some aspirin?

I'll get me skills warmed up in the meantime, not sure how good I am in the eyes of others
Let me know what you're planning at the OSC meeting (is it this upcoming Monday?) or at the Social Do on Sunday.

Re: OSC Open Day.
due to the Lancashire County Council ridiculous laws regarding safety, the OSC Open Day has now been cancelled.
Despite contacting both HBC and LCC way back in September, October and November regarding what licenses we may require, I was assured that the only thing we needed was a Temporary Event Notice to cover the music. Then after four months of nothing I am told only six weeks before the event that we need a separate safety certificate as the Ground is designated for football only. This would cost anywhere between £1000-£2000. As this was a fundraiser there is no way on earth we could afford to pay it.
To try to salvage something from the day I enquired about holding everything bar the football on the car parks. This was okay, on proviso that the turnstiles remain closed and the toilets were not used! Crazy, crazy world and damn stupid health and safety legislation again prevent the little man from making a stand.
The music will go ahead still but in the clubhouse and a later starting time.
Everything else that has taken 7 months to work towards is cancelled.
Thank you to all those that have helped to get us as far as we got but I am sorry that your work was in vain.
Roll on the next event which will be the annual Supporters Club presentation evening. This will now be held on the 28th April after the Macclesfield match

Re: OSC Open Day.
That's insane.
Is there nothing that the licensing dept at HBC can do for you? Could you hold it all on the car parks and put in portaloos?

Re: OSC Open Day.
Was really sad to hear this yesterday Macca, although quite relieved in a way as it was starting to become a half dozen people commitment.
We tried our best, and especially you Macca no-one can question your commitment in this
