In today's York Evening Press:

It happened on April 11

.........1955: A 2-2 draw at Accrington Stanley in a top of the table Northern Section encounter in front of 15,598 at Peel Park. Arthur Bottom and Norman Wilkinson were the scorers.

...and just five years later in 1960, the very same fixture drew under a thousand spectators to Peel Park. There's something for the board to reflect on!

i was on the "Huncoat End" wi me dad yonmon, but thats as far as it goes, tell A.E. cashys got Alzheimers.
