own a piece of history :-)

the fax received by the club for the release of lutel james is available on ebay, our first request for a player to represent his country in a full international since we reformed in 1968!

Why not keep the piece of history to display in the museum that was mentioned a couple of years ago, or would we rather sell our history down the river.

Surely the original is the document that should be framed at the club? Sell a copy, by all means....but it unlikely that whatever is raised on ebay will result in the club suddenly being awash with cash.

There are many people on the Accringtonweb site who are constantly pointing out the destruction & loss of various artifacts connected with Accy....here's this lovely little document, only a few days old but of immense significance in the years to come, now about to be sold. I think someone needs to think again.

Considering it's a fax can you tell the difference between the original and a copy?

For museum purposes I would agree the original would be better .. Its not going to make a kings ransom on ebay is it.

Its History.. I agree it should be kept.. not copies of it.

Re: own a piece of history :-)

1) Sell the photocopies through the online shop...A limited edition of 50 at say, a fiver a time. (+P&P)

2) The original incoming fax should be distinguished by it's "Received" stamp (not in black ink) if usual office procedures are being followed.

3) Fading can be avoided by treating it and not sticking it in the direct line of natural sunlight.

Re: own a piece of history :-)

To be honest...i can't understand why the club are considering selling it! It's a small piece of history for the club..why photocopy it when we can keep it. What would the club do with the negligable amount they will make from the sale, pay Lutel for a days training?

Pathetic!

Nice idea of Tealeaf's to sell a limited run of photocopies at a fiver a time. The ebay one has now gone out of my price range!
