Oxford at home
Important game this afternoon.
Win will put daylight between ourselves and the bottom four. It will also show that we actually CAN win at home against teams above National League level.
Defeat will put us very firmly in the relegation scrap, leaving us to hope that the bottom four remain as poor, which is statistically unlikely. Someone will improve. Let’s hope we do, too.

Re: Oxford at home
I guess 1 point better than FA....on a different note, can anyone explain why Scottish games finish about 5 minutes before English matches when they all k/o at the same time?

Do they also have 15 minutes half time break???
Or, do they not add on as much time???

Re: Oxford at home
Another drab performance in my opinion
We just do not seem to have any attacking about us, just huff and puff.
Turn of the year we have some very tough games to come, so we need to get our home form back.
Sure Coley will turn it around

Re: Oxford at home
Pretty sure they do, but stand corrected...could be the old adage 'bout Scots being 'tight'-in this case with time...

”Back” as in before the summer? Because home form this year has been really poor from the off. Two wins by my calculations, one against Cheltenham when Sean scored after a minute, and versus Morecambe when all the goals were scored against ten men. Sure, they count, too, but form it ain’t. Morecambe away on 29 Dec will be huge because we are unlikely to pick up any points before then. We are promised a striker in January, but cannot fall too far behind before his arrival. And if he isn’t a hit, we are in deep(er) trouble.

Re: Oxford at home
Thought it was an excellent game the ninety minutes flew buy and apart from the lapse from the otherwise excellent Tharme which gifted them their goal we matched a very good side all over the park and thoroughly deserved the point get a decent target man in January and some game time into Adeoyin and we should be ok.

Re: Oxford at home
Terrific goal to salvage a point. Probably a draw was a fair result .
Heard Coley say to Radio Lancs that, had the game gone on for a few more minutes, then there would’ve been only one winner (i.e. Stanley).
But then you could equally argue that had Pritchard and Adedoyin got more than 22 and 13 minutes respectively, the result after 90+ might have been different too!

Re: Oxford at home
i thought a draw was a good result myself. if you play at home with NO striker playing, then its a good result imho.some are incapeable of sussing that out.

Re: Oxford at home
Well, it wasn’t the best game to watch. However, apart from a couple of close shaves our defence were holding Oxford out pretty well until the error that allowed them in. Dog Tharme had played really well up to that point but he nearly repeated the error a few minutes later! It was an absolute joy to see “The ROCKET”, (Ethan Hamilton), blast in that equalizer from all of 35 yards. He was lying deep as our last man as we took a corner which came out to him and he tried a speculative volley which he sliced up into the air. Then we managed to put the ball back into their penalty box and it was cleared back to Ethan. This time he took one good touch and hit the ball with such force it ZOOMED past all the other players into the net! It was an absolute cracker……looking forward to seeing it on the highlights! So pleased for Ethan as he is a true grafter. He and Liam Coyle worked very hard in trying to stifle Oxford’s talented midfielders. Ross Longelo had a good game IMHO and we looked more of a threat when Joe Pritchard and Kode Adedoyin came on.
I have to comment though on the inconsistent refereeing as we definitely were on the wrong side of his interpretation of the laws of the game. In the first few minutes the two big Oxford centre backs were putting an arm on the shoulder of Tommy Lee in order to get the upper hand on him. By half time they were both just using Tommy as a ‘Step Ladder’ with both hands used in every aerial challenge! The referee also proved so inconsistent in his interpretation of what deserved a yellow card. Yellow cards for little shirt pulls but not for dangerous tackles from behind or for calculated fouls to break down an opponents flowing move.
In the end it was important that we got a point from the game.
Ultras were brilliant again!
KEEP THE FAITH!
ON STANLEY ON!
