Re: Oxford Match Thread.................
Could have been our best chance to progress, but we are well capable of taking it to them at their place - Just need a juicy carrot now in tomorrow's draw.

Re: Oxford Match Thread.................
2 good keepers Oxfords kept em in it first half stanley coulda been 4 or5 up at half time, 6 great goals, credit must be given to Oxford wi us scoring so close to the death, heads never dropped at all, was a pity we couldn't see the game out though.

Re: Oxford Match Thread.................
Great cup tie ,which in part was helped by a hard bobbly surface.
Players struggled to turn, which meant end to end action.
Thought they deserved something from the goal as they were powerful in the air,and bags of pace out wide.
Thought they defended better than us,and we scored two wonder goals to give us an edge, but once against our inexperience cost us,with mistakes/poor defending.
Positives, keeper and murph did well, liddle was outstanding against a very good player.
Negatives, toto and dean were poor, and we just generally lacked pace.
They won nearly every header, and eventually got there reward.
Hope the two lads who got carried off are ok,as both were having good games.

Re: Oxford Match Thread.................
Rachubka, Liddle, Boco and Amond were the pick of the bunch today with Miller and Joyce average. Rest of em need to up their game and I cannot for the life of me see Toto becoming a decent CB. Peach from Molyneaux, if only the team had held out for another two minutes it would have been a worthy winner

Agree with you F19 ....pity about the panic button being pressed in extra time though ...a bit of 'keep-ball' would nave been nice to see BUT !!.
Witnessing your accurate calling of Lee M's free kick was
indeed impressive !....and I will not be returning to the Kassam Stadium....they sell rotten Pies !.
Watching the third-round draw with interest though !.

Re: Oxford Match Thread.................
Was a good game, especially 2nd half.
just saw the crowd, that is dire for such a potentially rewarding game! they easily brought 400, just 800 home fans for a 2nd round game. wouldnt suprise to be the lowest gate of the round....

Oldham's average this season 4,024, yesterday 2783
Fleetwood average 2995 yesterday 1757
Coventry average 10527 yesterday 6339
Bradford average 9795 Friday night 3620
These are just a few, so in reality Stanleys attendance held up well

Thing is these days the F.A. Cup don't carry the same magic to many people as it used to in days of old. if thats down to economic climate i aint sure, only partly is my guess.

If Stanley had still been non-league I reckon it would have been a higher gate, the lower down the leagues you are then the magic of the cup in the 2nd Rd proper still has it. Harrogate were a good example of that .
As an established League side it's not the same romance unless you pull a plum in the 3rd round or beyond.
Then you can factor in the economics, all pay which means even some of your season ticket holders will opt out.
