Smile Patterson to Return

Well, maybe.

At the end of the back page article in this week's Observer (3/7/09) John Coleman reveals that we may be seeing Mark Patterson back around the ground on match days in the role Pablo Asensio took last season but has since vacated.

"Mark has been scouting for Sheffield United and has volunteered his services so that would be good for me, Jimmy and the club if he can help out," says Coley.

It's important that we bring in help for John and Jimmy on the coaching side, and I'm sure a few of us would look forward to seeing an old face back on the Crown!

Another sign Eric has left the building?

Let's hope for a mild winter.

Re: Patterson to Return

It'll be good news if he does, Patty is a customer of mine and is a really down to earth and of course was a good footballer in his time.

Re: Patterson to Return

I'd say if Gizmo is on board it would be another step in the right direction.....assuming that he is a shrewd judge of character and can apply the same hard work ethics that the guy always showed during his playing career

Admired the guy as a player, hard working and industrious are words that spring to mind, if he can add that ethos to the directives already shown by Coley and Bell, then it's another step along the improvement road.

Anyhooo !!If it is the case.... Welcome aboard Gizmo !! Players like Proccy and Jimmy can only enhance their repertoire by listening to inspired words of wisdom!!

And just as a footnote....that's not saying the afforementioned Proccy and Jimmy Ryan don't put the effort in already........they can only benefit by words of advice from a seasoned campaigner who may offer a little more advice that they may...or may not have heard before...and that also applies to lads like Chris T and Bobby G.

Re: Patterson to Return

Comfirmed today with Patty

Matchdays only though, but its a start.

Speaking of old players, one for the old codgers here, Lawson Bennett is also a regular through the doors (door) of Lancashires finest Ironmongers.
