Re: Paul Mullin

Story from Paul's point of view is in Observer, read it at Asda earlier, the site does not update until after paper is officially out on Friday.
This is the link to the Stanley section though Accrington Stanley - Sport - Accrington Observer maybe try tomorrow.

Unhappy Re: Paul Mullin

Paul has a family to consider - absolutely gutted but in no way surprised that we can no longer afford to pay his wages and he obviously cannot afford to take the cut. Ever decreasing circles comes to mind in this situation

Everyone will hopefully have a chance to say a proper goodbye to the phenomenal Stanley player that was Paul (lets admit it - he is gone) and for him to say goodbye to the club he has helped rise from the doldrums of Northern league football to the Football League. Remember - wherever you have been during that meterioric rise of a journey from Frickley to Peterborough, so has this lad. A true gentleman and role model of a player. Never ever saw Paul embarass himself publicly unlike some of the other players . He will be missed. Hopefully he will keep coming back to have a look now and again as I am sure that he has become a fan of Stanley as much as we are over the time he has been with us.
Big up Paul and all the best to you and your family in the future - I actually have a tear in my eye writing this now and I am not ashamed to admit it..

Re: Paul Mullin

yeah - what Jimbo said!
I would love to see the club give him some kind of honorary testimonial anyway. A friendly against his new team (better or worse) at the Crown to give the fans a chance to say thanks.

Re: Paul Mullin

Gutted......

What a state for the club to be in that it can't afford to keep hold of a player who’s given so much to the club and the fans. I can only hope that this departure marks the dawn of a new focus for the club and not the dawning of our last season ever…….If we’re in the ****e Eric, it’s time to **** off now and give us a chance in an increasing difficult world.

Paul, you have the respect of the town and I’m sure your place in the clubs history is secure. Thanks Cock.

Re: Paul Mullin

It is clear that the club has to UP the offer and keep Paul Mullin. After the betting mullarky it is the very least they can do to repay the fans. i don't need an icon to tell you that i'm fuming mad at this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Paul Mullin

Mullin has been great for the club and we'll never forget that, but the key words here are 'has been'. For the money we're paying him, we could get a few young lads who do the same job. If Mullin had been a regular goalscorer over the last season (or a little longer), then fair enough, but I don't think we really missed him towards the end of last season.

Great servant to the club and I thank him for giving me many happy memories over the years. But he's too expensive in the grand scheme of things and it's time to move on. Nobody is bigger than the club.

Nobody is bigger than the club - quite true, all I am saying is, the next time I see Mullers at the F.E.S. I do not want him to be wearing an opposition top I know some people think that it is an over reaction, but the least we could have hoped for is to have seen Mullers in a Stanley top on the Crown Ground playing for Stanley - just my opinion

Posted via Mobile Device i echo jimbo's heart felt post, wishing paul & his family all the very best. They have been the biggest part of the stanley family. The club really needs to sort its house out & get it in order, so players, fans & any investers know the direction to take in the next season.

Well said, TM. Sentiment has no place in the current circumstances. In the same vein, I can't see any point in discussing new contracts for Cav or Rocky - just move on.
