Thank you for all your hard work for the club Peter, I'm glad that the board have recognised this by asking you to be an honorary life vice president.

Re: Peter Shaw steps down from the board

Knowing Peter Shaw so well, And knowing of his personal and professional strivings to ensure that we still have a Football team to watch and admire, I can only add my own personal gratitude to him for what he along with others have achieved on our behalf during what has been a difficult time for our Club.
I wish he and Maureen the health to enjoy many long years of watching the fruits of these efforts take shape and grow as he would want.
Thanks Peter !.

Don't know Peter, but anyone who gives time and effort to keep Stanley afloat must be a top bloke. Thanks Mr Shaw.

Re: Peter Shaw steps down from the board

As someone who as worked for and been paid, and also freely given my time and money to the club, I feel that I too must express my disgust at the comment made recently about Peter Shaw's resignation. It is all to easy to make throw away comments from a distance. While the forum is an ideal tool to air ones views it is not a licence to insult anyone. Ps I don't know Peter but I assume he did what he did out of love for the club.

Thanks for sharing my concern LTR, and I can assure you and everyone else that Peter's desire to do what he could at one of the worst times in the history of our Club WAS driven by a deep sense of loyalty to it, and for no other reason !.
Unfortunately, the perpetrator of the comment, having not seen fit to make any response, must not it would seem, share our view regarding using the names of others in a denigrating manner without first viewing the possible consequences of their actions !.

Enough said now ?.

My posts were not intended to do anything but protect the good name of a good man and not to support any other well- examined 'cans of worms' which open up at the drop of a hat !.
Sorry I said anything now !.
