Phil's Boots
After the game yesterday, Phil Edwards was so disapointed with his performance that he decided to give his boots away to a young lad.
The lad in question wore them for St. Joseph's Under 13 this morning. They won 6-1 and he won the Man of the Match award!
Nice story, but my post is to say that Phil Edwards is one of the best defenders in the lower leagues-Hope he is back to his normal excellent self on Tuesday!

Re: Phil's Boots
Got to agree with every post above, we forgive him the odd off game, but like others, I cannot believe he is still a Stanley player. Long may it be so as well.

Re: Phil's Boots
That 13 year old must be a big lad - big feet anyway!

as a kid I was always a goalkeeper (and quite good i thought!) and managed to acquire the gloves of the Stanley custodian de jour, Tony Nuttall. I frequently wore them whilst goalkeeping for my primary school and the Boys Brigade, aged 8-11
