Players In/Out of Contract

Does anyone have a definitive list of players in/out of contract for this season end?

Re: Players In/Out of Contract

According to one web site I looked recently only two players, Baghuelou and Quirk, have contracts into next season. All others seem to end this summer.
But that may not be accurate or up to date.

This is ten months out of date, but is all we have to go on - unless somebody tells us otherwise

Re: Players In/Out of Contract

My opinion - for what it is worth - is, we have to keep some of the older heads, reduce their wages - Coaching roles maybe, but we need to have some continuity

Tommy, Ros, Nolan, Pritchard, Adekoya, Henderson, Dan Martin, Woods and Woods, Connor, Aaron and maybe a couple of other young lads, are the only players I would think about for next season.

This season defensive loans have been very, very good and same again please - with a few less goalies

Re: Players In/Out of Contract

Liam Coyles injury must have been a bad one so hopefully he's available for selection next season.

Not for me I am afraid Watchdog.... Ben Woods for me everyday

Similar players, one is cool and calm and stays on the pitch

All about opinions and I respect yours

Agree with you entirely re Ben Woods he is a much better player but we need competition for places and i shall be surprised if Tommy is still with us next season.

Re: Players In/Out of Contract

It will be very interesting to see John Doolan's retained list at the end of the season. I like the look of your list Val but like you think Tommy will be tempted away. I'm not sure we ever found his best position? As for Joe....he can be a real game changer, but gets too many injuries...

Re: Players In/Out of Contract

I hope we get a proper rebuild. Let's hope John's got contacts in non-league. I think the youngsters will form the basis of a good team next season if we can keep them happy. I bet Mr Whalley has another season in him if he wants to stay.......

Agree, and from what John Doolan reveals in his interviews, he sees the young lads as crucial to next season.
However, Stanley may need to secure their services before the end of the season as the likes of Ged Brannan will know just as much if not more about their potential and may be dangling carrots their way.

Except Morecambe currently have an embargo due to missed payments to HMRC so fortunately, for the duration of that at least, Ged won't be able to dangle his carrots anywhere
