Points for safety - the faint smell of coffee

Since the two up, two down was introduced into League Two. Routinely the third from bottom club has aquired 50/51 points to escape the drop.

There have been two exceptions:

One season 39 points was enough to stay-up given that this season the third from bottom club already has 31 points, it is almost certain that will not be the case this year.

The other occasion the team avoiding drop had 54 points.

Given the current haul of points and games to go, coupled with recent results it is entirely likley that a team with a record number of points may be relegated and may mean that 56/57 points maybe required to stay up this season.

Therefore, currently any team with less than 40 points is still at risk of playing non league football next season.

What do you think guys and gals?

Yes, but Chester are in free fall, and they've not been playing the top half teams either.

Total points, really depends on games against fellow strugglers, too early to panic.
No, really.

Re: Points for safety - the faint smell of coffee

We have got to get the mentality of what of other teams are doing to the back of our minds and focus on what we do!

At the moment I would take a really shabby performance and the three points

Time to close ranks and get a real siege mentality going, we have two home games coming up that are against form teams but they are winnable

The indications from Tuesday and listening yesterday sounded much much better and perhaps just need a little rub of the green to turn the corner in terms of results

Re: Points for safety - the faint smell of coffee

We are now 2/3 way through the season 36 pts from 32 games if we can get another 18 pts from the next 16 games that will give us 54 pts, and i think that will be enough to stay up, but thats if we can get the 18 pts, on paper its do-able.
Even though we have played better in the last couple of games we need to start gathering some points, or else if we are not carefull we will be in another relegation battle, a few weeks ago we were 11 pts from safety now we are only 8 pts clear, the gap is closing fast.

Points make prizes

It's all here in Black and White....(not the Coffee!)....A little more application, a bit of luck in front of goal!.....Kenny back on song!...a defence that's been given an opportunity to develop an 'understanding'!...and the continued backing of ALL of the Supporters..(although some gritting of teeth & dentures might be needed!)...SHOULD make Football League survival a sure thing !!!...Have faith!

and KEEP THE FAITH!!!. (and JC + JB !).
