Re: port vale.
More:
"IT IS deja vu that many sides turn up at Vale Park and look good sides, able to pass the ball to feet, control the ball, move into dangerous positions, defend comfortably and win!
Accrington are the latest, Clarke their No9 looked like Drogba!, he ran our defence on his own - well played young man in all fairness.
Nice 2nd goal, I applauded it, I also 'boo'ed Vale, just a natural passionate reaction I'm afraid, I didn't mean to!"
"Ask yourself how many times did the central midfield get the ball down and 'spread' the play out wide or pass a forward ball to feet - a'la Accrington. (or was it Brazil?)"

Was in the Bull's Head in the town square. A great traditional pub owned by the Titanic Brewery. Had three pints of "The Guv'nor" (6.5%) - cracking stuff!

Is the brewery so called because the Captain came from Stoke?

That's the same one we were in too. We ended having Steerage, as the Iceberg had just run dry. Did you see the bar billiards game? I haven't seen one of those for donkeys' years.

No, I was in the other room, yakking to some Vale fans. Top-notch pub, though - definitely worth a return visit next season!

Explains why I couldn't spot you then
It was a good pub and it was good to have some proper ale too.

Or could it be that as at all "fortresses", the home supporters are so intimidating the team are nervous ?

Re: port vale.
What a game! scoring that early on in the game! the goal was good by craney thats two top performances he has put in and two goals and still people are knocking him! get behind the lad he played well fact! it was a nervous 89mins but we kept the ball played it around, clarke was unlucky would of been a great goal! hopefully 3rd time lucky! dont think kenny will get an easier game than this! he only had to make 1 or 2 proper saves all rest were just catches from corners! was good when he went round that player! the defence looks alot better than last season edwards played really good today the whole team did! miles did put in alot of effort even if he were playing out of position! still waiting for onibuje to come on! we could of used his height as an advantage today! stil cnt belive people knocking coley! 100% behind him! looking foward to next home game
apppllllleeeeeeeessss

Re: port vale.
Update on Vale Blog:
"The defence can't be blamed for today. Their second was a superb move, and a great finish worthy of a higher level, and the first was nothing to do with them. I felt very sorry for them infact. The biggest positive for me was the midfield pairing of Davidson and Griffith. The latter is exactly the type of tenacious midfielder we need at this level, and Davidson has an incredible engine, and was the only midfielder who had any kind of initiative to attempt to break Accrington's defensive line."
"Second half we unbelievably managed to do even less, and Stanley's second goal was not only deserved but was a work of art. Pass and move football ended with a fabulous finish."
"I thought that their no 9 Clarke was excellent, he showed the passion and fire"
"Accrington have a good away record and clearly have their system sorted"
"Very, Very harsh to say he has any fault for the second goal, It was as good a finish as you will see in league two, and thoroughly deserved the applause it got from the Vale fans"
"We were given a harsh lesson in league 2 football -Outplayed and outfought by a side the "pundits" reckon will struggle this season - I thought Acc Stanley "who are they?" were better than us in every position from Goalkeeper to Center Forward."

Re: port vale.
I cant really add anything to whats already been said, but i think thats the best i`ve seen them play since returning to the league in a league match, we just played more like a team yesterday, we actually looked solid at the back which is what we really needed to sort out, even though Clarke has pace i think he just looks a little green infront of goal, but i`m sure that will change in time, his effort that hit the post would have been a cracking goal had it gone in, so there are signs of things to come i think.
Well done to the lads, lets take the effort displayed against Vale and apply it against Macc and everyone else, i knows it early days but theres no reason if we play like that that our season should be a better one than the previous 2.
