Before today's shenanigans from Gaydamak, the creditors had "agreed" (HRMC dissenting but not having a big enough share to block) to a 20% payout at some unspecified point in the future. This opened a potential route out of administration but the football authorities still have to be happy - when last asked they were still quibbling.

It would be an enormous blow to the town I live and work in. The fans are mad but truly passionate. I can't understand how any true football fan could make such a comment. Shame on you.

I'd rather not see a club go bust, but I would like to see the football authorities get a grip before ever club goes bust. Of course they won't do that because they feed their fat faces with the same greed as the clubs

Would agree, Dave, it's just a shame how it's the fans who always seem to suffer in the end, while the fat cats walk away.

In Portsmouth's case it's a double whammy for the fans. There own supporters club are one of the creditors to the tune of £300.

Re: Portsmouth going?
Not pleasant, Stanley supporters are only to well aware of the turmoil in such a case & with such a recent history it is rather to close to home.

Re: Portsmouth going?
I remember going down to MK Dons for the last game of the 2006/07 season when the coach pulled in at the service station and there were various fans from different clubs at the same services including Pompey fans who were on their way to Everton I think.
They were a great bunch travelling in good numbers and took a genuine interest in who we were and Stanley itself trading off songs at each other and having a good chat with quite a few of them before shaking hands and departing to our seperate destinations.
Football fans unified is how it should be

Terrible thing to say. The only possible way to half sympathise with you is if closure would bring the whole rotten modern football structure down too, but pigs might fly. Obscene sums of money paid to unexceptional players is the thing that really gets me going.
