No first teamers from last season playing.. New signings and trialist.
Highlight was late in second half when Martin fearon made a quadruple set of saves.. 4 in less than 4 seconds... You see them on TV and they call them double saves... Martin did 4 and got the biggest round of applause of the night from the whole ground... |

Team full of trailists really except for Paul Carden who played as skipper for fully 90, Branch played second half and a very impressive Martin Fearon played about 80min.
New Mills took the lead from a corner that was bundeled in then the traialist who had the two free kicks against Burnley tipped over equalised. Not too sure how as I was in the loo. Second half New Mills again took the lead when a cross from the left was knocked back across goal for a tap in. Martin Fearon then made 3 brilliant saves in quick succesion before a youth team player I believe to be Chris Turner equalised from 20 yards out. New Mills missed a hand full of chances and The Reds had a clear spot kick turned down, In the end a fair result.

A pleasant evening out. Highlights were Martin's four successive quick-reaction saves (I think Tony got them all) and our second equaliser - straight into the top corner, possibly from more than 20 yards out.
