Prediction league - first table

Hi All

Attached please find the first table for the new season, after Saturday's horror result. Unsurprisingly, nobody got close.

Seven spot-on predictions over the first four games, and Nige B is our early leader having got two of them, plus one with the right result but the wrong score.

Do please let me know (by PM or public humiliation ) if you think I've got your record wrong, as I could easily have screwed up the automatic bits of my system when resetting it for the new season.

Remember how it works, you get 3 points if you get the result (Stanley Win/Lose/Draw) right, and 1 point for each individual score you get right. So taking the horror show as the example:
If you predicted Port Vale 4 Stanley 1, you get 5 points - 3 for the right result and 1 for each correct score. This would show in the table as a Win (W).

4-0, 4-2, 4-3, 5(or more)-1, 3-1, 2-1 get 4 points - 3 for the result and 1 for getting one of the scores right. These would show as Draws (D).

3-0, 3-2, 2-0, 1-0 (and many others) get 3 points for predicting the Vale win, but no bonus points as both scores are wrong. These would also show as Draws.

Finally if you predicted a Stanley win or a draw, with Vale 4 or Stanley 1 as one of the scores, you would get a single bonus point for the score you got right. These would show in the table as Losses (L).
The BP column in the table shows the total number of Bonus Points gained when you (not Stanley!) drew or lost. It does not include the Bonus Points for your wins, as your total points score is calculated as 5W + 3D + BP.

(Yes, I could have included the Win BPs in the table and calculated he points as 3W + 3D + BP, which would work out exactly the same, but I chose not to, all right? ).

Other points:
If you put more than one prediction in a game thread (Gribbster ), I will always use the last one.

So you can always change your mind right up to kick-off, or if the game is postponed and rearranged after you make your original prediction.

Only the 46 normal league matches are included in the table, though Div 3 North runs "just-for-fun" threads for cup games and (maybe) playoffs.

I will normally attach the updated table to a post in the prediction thread as soon as possible after each game.
Looking forward to a good season ...... best of luck everyone.

It certainly should, and it would have been if I hadn't recorded the result as 0-1 instead of 1-2

Corrected table attached .... with a lot of changes ...
