Before I post up the final league table in the best way I can, I need to bring everyone up to date as I havent done this since the Hereford home game on the 8th March
I thought rather than resurrect 10 or so different prediction threads and update each one individually, I will just put them all in this last one for the season. If you want to trawl back through the pages of threads to find them yourselves, feel free.
So - here goes. For the Hereford home game, we had 3 predictions that didnt count, they were Harwood Red's, slerpy's and Alvin the chipmunks for unclear predictions. The only winner correctly predicting a 2-0 win for Hereford that week was
rosewood red, gaining 5 points towards their total.
The following game was the Morecambe fixture at home on Wed 12th March. I have to be fair with the rules so Im afraid Revived Red's prediction was too late even though it was only by a minute or so. The only person grabbing 5 points from this fixture by predicting a 3-2 Stanley win was
cmonstanley.
The Rochdale away game was next on the Sunday (16th March) and no-one correctly predicted a 4-1 Rochdale win so no 5 pointers.
The next game was the Chesterfield away game on the 22nd March which had pretty much the same outcome on both fronts - no one correctly predicted a 4-2 win for Chesterfield so no winners for that one either.
The MK Dons game at home was next on the Easter Bank Holiday Monday. I had two invalid predictions for this game that didnt count, one from Kiwi John and the other from caretaker. Also - no-one predicted MK Dons would win by only the single goal so again no winners for that game.
Next up was the Macc Town away game on Sat 29th March. We had 2 winners for this game, each getting 5 points for correctly predicting a 2-1 Macc win. They were
PaulMullinsForehead and
cmonstanley.
Following on from that was the Daggers Friday evening home game on the 4th April. 4 winners for this game, all correctly predicting a 1-0 Stanley win - they were
Bagpuss,
ukcowboy,
Me and
fc:stanley - all getting 5 points.
Notts County away were next up on Sat 12th April. The usual suspects for not posting valid predictions came up again, caretaker and slerpy but no-one predicted correctly that Notts County would win 1-0.
The Bees of Barnet were the visitors to the FES on the 19th April and like most teams that came this season, went home with all 3 points with a 2-0 win. Again nobody correctly predicted that scoreline spot on and caretaker's (once again) and John_Timmins' predictions didnt count for that game.
Next was our last win of 2008 - away at Wrexham on 26th April. 4 people correctly predicted a 3-1 Stanley win to see us safe for next season and they were
Redash,
AccyMad,
Wynonie Harris and
CLAYTON RED - all getting 5 points.
Finally was the Bury away game on Sat 3rd May. We had no winners on or off the field for this game - no-one correctly predicted Bury would come out 2-0 winners. Someone in the Liverpool area did though and made a killing so at least that someone wasnt anybody playing the prediction league on here for that particular fixture
So thats that - everyone is up to date with all the details so it just remains for me to announce the winners and post the final table up... which I will do right now in a new thread.
Can I take this opportunity (if you are still reading that is) to say a big big thank you back to the following people for finding 2 minutes of their time once/twice a week to play all 46 games this season, even though some of you were well out of the running for the top 2 a while back :
rosewood red,
K.S.H,
WOLVERHAMPTON REDS,
Redash, and
norwich stanley
Cheers guys. I just want to apologise one last time for all the technical problems with the prediction league in the 2nd half of this season and thank you all for still predicting regardless.
