Re: Preferential Ticket News
Jeeeeeeeeeeezus!
Theres one or two games that could be a sell out.. 1) if we need a result to clinch promotion and 2) when the championship is presented..
You do NOT have to buy a program to get a ticket for either match. The vouchers availabe will be few if in the program and only means those with them will be able to get theres first.. It does not mean they are the only ones who can get a ticket, it does not mean everyone else loses out.
If theres 350 programs and 400 season ticket holders that means theres still around 4 thousand tickets or more to go on general sale.
Press the think button people... not the panick button...

Re: Preferential Ticket News
I have no difficulty with any of your comments or criticisms, it’s an opinion and above all else it was purely intended to demonstrate the facts of the matter here and not **** people off.
No I don’t do to bad admittedly; it probably costs me for myself £40 every time I attend a home game. I can only afford to do it because I don’t attend away games, I recognise it’s a hell of a lot more for those that take dependents or for those that attend has a family.
But this is basically about market forces. The club needs to pay the wages of a full time team, the clubs office and support staff, publicity, insurance and maintain the ground let alone improve it. All I am saying is that the money as got to come from somewhere, the gate price, programme and strip sales provide the bulk of those costs.
What is it we want, a safe comfortable ground with a roof or lower gate prices? I don’t know anywhere where this can be done to every ones satisfaction with the number of paying fans we have.

Sometimes you need to be big enough to back track and admit you are wrong. This is one such time. Im sure whoever brainstormed the idea thought it all very cunning at the time but clearly its many flaws have quickly been exposed.
All this will serve to do if it is not rectified quickly is to alienate the lifeblood of the club, the 'hardcore' paying public. That is clearly not a good idea.

Excuse the editing of your original post.
Really? I don’t think for one minute I was questioning any ones commitment to the club. I happen to know that many of the people contributing to this thread donate a great deal of their personal free time for the clubs benefit as well as pay at the gate. The last thing I want to do is question their commitment.

Being controversial or different isn’t really me. I’m an individual with a point of view and I express that point of view freely like the rest of you. I’ll stand by it what ever utterance passes my lips. If I believe I’m wrong and I’ve offended people I’ll apologise to those Affected.

Come on Karen. You are conspicuous by your lack of comments of late. Yerself (acknowledged your earlier comment mate) & myself have given you the answer to your dilema-are you going to act on it & quell the riot?

Re: Preferential Ticket News
the idea of the voucher in the programme was introduced in response to concerns that had been expressed to the club regarding the allocation of tickets should we have a game at which a large crowd is expected. we thought that the voucher in the programme would help to ease these concerns.
i am not going to insult anyone's intelligence and suggest that the idea that programme sales would be boosted did not cross our mind, in fact at the moment a large amount of everyone's time at the club goes on ensuring that we maximise income while the club is doing well and also ahead of what could be a step into the unknown next season. i do not think that the price of £2.00 for a programme is ripping people off, in fact i don't think you'll find a cheaper one in the conference. i also believe it is one of the best in our league with some superb content from a wide range of contributors.
to clarify the situation...
season ticket holders will of course gain admission to all home league games using their regular pass, however in the event of tickets being sold for one of the remaining matches this season, as a further reward they will be given first priority to buy an additional two tickets.
voucher holders will then be allowed a period in which to buy tickets. i do accept that perhaps it is silly to expect a family of four to have to buy four programmes to take advantage of the offer, and so we are happy to allow voucher holders to purchase two tickets per voucher.
finally the print run of programmes has increased in the last few games with the increased gates that we have enjoyed, and there will be more than 350 programmes on sale tomorrow.

I dunno, I just sell to the home fans - I would say I sold quite a few, but the attendance was high. There are more than one programme sellers.
