no no no, i did`nt mean it like that at all, anyhow with the new superior quality printed programmes (trust me i`m a printer LOL) they are bound to sell out quickly!!!!!! agree with kippax they should print enough for half the expected gate and as u said the rest will surely be snapped up on Ebay.

Re: Programme Sellers
Secondly, the person who walks around the ground you say isn’t very upfront, well you can see him, you know who he is and he does shout programmes – he’s also 70, very quiet and only ever laves the house to come and help Stanley out. He’s not even a Stanley fan, follows United (someone has to), but comes down to the club every game to give the club a lift and has done for the past 6 years.
I think it was me that said the guy wasn’t perhaps up front and I apologise for any suggestion that didn’t reflect the gentleman’s commitment. I hold such people with the utmost respect.

Before segregation I always bought my programme form the nice girl in the box, mainly because it was obvious what she was selling. Maybe the answer is in acquiring a few more boxes from which to sell programmes and the fanzine come to that.

Re: Programme Sellers

I can't be certain of the mathematics of a print run, but the bulk of the cost is in the setting up of the programme; the first 500 may well cost £500, i.e. £1.00 apiece with a face selling price of £2.50, whereas the next 500 may well only be a marginal 50p each, but will still sell at £2.50. Like 'owt else in business, you have to calculate the risk. Order 500 at a quid, sell 500 at £2.50, gross profit £750 quid; Order 1000, total cost £750; sell 750, gross profit £1125; sell 501, waste 499, gross profit £502.50. It's all about maximising profit - which goes to the club - rather than maximising revenue.
