Questions from Newest Stanley Fan.

Okay, I've got my team jersey which is blue. Is that the away color? I've got my calendar for all the games. And I'm ready to start reading all your expert analysis of each game results. It's quite exciting for me.

Could you please tell me, wehn you speak of the "Clayton End," is that for the opponents of an area for Stanley supporters? How does the fight song go? How many various songs are there? Do the fans "get ugly" with each other?

I apologize for my need for very basic understanding. Thanks for your patience and for any guidance.

Brian

Sorry one more question: Do they carry the games on any websites that you know of?

Re: Questions from Newest Stanley Fan.

Welcome to the Accrington Stanley Forum, LancYorkYankee. In answer to your questions, the Clayton End is for the Stanley fans. The opposition fans go on the Coppice end and get wetter than the Stanley fans. We have chants rather than songs (well, you wouldn't call it singing anyway!)
We don't "get ugly". Many of us are already ugly. The best way to find out more about Stanley is to get over here.

Re: Questions from Newest Stanley Fan.

Thanks Melonhigh. I do hope to get over to a match sometime this fall. Both my trips over have been in June and July, just missing the seasons.

When I mentioned "getting ugly," I had noted in another thread HarwoodRed having to tell some fans to shutup for bad manners. Wasn't sure how bad it can get. Is it like our American football where many come to the match drunk?

You can find some of the "Chants" HERE, many out of date now the players have left the club though
HERES an aerial view of the ground, Clayton end is on the left, has a roof now though (Nearly)

Is that pic an optical illusion or is the ground not square (as in 90degree corners, not all sides same size) zoom in and look at top left corner

Your lucky, I contacted the team shop in June about purchasing replica kit/shirt for my Grandson who lives in Germany , Accy web Forum user Kipax was kind enough to refer me to someone named Lee in the team shop, but I guess they are very busy since I haven't heard back .

Not to worry he told me he is supporting Schalke in the German Bundesliga this season .

You're not alone. I've tried to contact the club on a number occasions for different reasons and have never had a reply.

Hi Brian welcome aboard the Stanley Express!
The Blue jersey you have aquired is indeed the away top!
Best source of information is usually the the club website Official Accrington Stanley
or through the forum itself, it is also a good place for getting to know what is going on as well as taking part in the various threads and making contact with fellow Stanley Fans around the world!
They do have match summarys with live updates on 2BR and the Bee (local radio stations)
2BR - Burnley, Hyndburn & Pendles
107 The Bee - Home
If you are interested there is also the official Supporters Club as well which is
Accrington Stanley - Official Supporters Club
Where we are always looking for new members to join our ranks there is a link there for the membership section.

Re: Questions from Newest Stanley Fan.

Thanks for all the continuing information. While I was there in June Mez was so very nice to drive me to various shops until we found the jersey. I found it a bit odd that none of them had either names or numbers.

I'm kinda afraid of getting into the Stanley discussions. I've heard it's a tough, karma deducting crowd! I'll enjoy reading up on Accywebbers thought on the matches and will look forward to seeing some of the games on the sites!

I do so love yStanley supporters incredible passion. We don't have it that much for our professional sports but do have it for college sports especially college (American) football.
