Randolph the Red loan

....reigned here!!

Did anyone else see the above entitled article by Suzanne Geldard in tonight's LET??

Don't know if Suzanne was responsible for the actual headline, which I thought was absolutely superb, but the rest of the article went on to mention 'our Jamie'.

Would be great if he could make the team tomorrow, if only to experience the banter from behind his goal!

Talking of such headlines, can anyone think of similar ones?

The one that sticks in my mind, is from maybe 4/5 yrs ago, when some team called Inverness Caledonian Thistle, in the Scots equivalent of the Unibond, beat, I think, Celtic, in some cup game by about 5-1. I may stand corrected on their opponents & the score, but the headline the following morning was brilliant...

'SUPER CALLY GO BALLISTIC (CELTIC) ARE ATROCIOUS'

I think the LET one on Darren is on a par with the above, anyone better either of them??

Re: Randolph the Red loan

you ******. I read that earlier and all the way home I thought I've gotta get a thread on that and ask if anybody else knew any better. The only other one that stuck was the Super Cally one. Beat to it, almost word for bloody word

Re: Randolph the Red loan

Maybe a song for tomorrow?

Randolph the Red Loan reigned here
Didn't let in many goals
And if you ever saw him
You would say that his class shows.
Then one foggy winter eve
Charlton came to say
Randolph with your promise so bright
Wont you keep our goal tonight.
All of the Stanley missed him
Is the future looking grim
But we've got Danny Alcock
So we dont give a fock

Okay bit of work needed then!

So we will stick with him.

Not much of an improvment but I tried.

Sorry I beat you to it, Macca, just got home from work before you, for a change.
Didn't think you were same vintage as me.... was it the Sun with the 'Invercally' headline??

Randolph the Red Loan reigned here,
Had a chance to shine, he knows.
And if you ever saw him
You'd have loved his saves and throws.
All of the Conference forwards
Used to laugh and call him names.
But they went home despondent -
Stuffed in one of their worst games.

Then one freezing Saturday
Southport came to play,
"Randolph with your skills so bright,
Give those sand-bound sh**s a fright !"

All of his Stanley fan club
Had to laugh and shout with glee,
"Randolph the Red please stay here . . .
Don't go back to Curbishley !"
