There's a fundamental misunderstanding here.
The appeal is against the charge that Putterill played in a JPT game whist suspended, not against the suspension.
He's already had, and lost, his appeal against the suspension. He got an extra seven days for the frivolous nature of his appeal (and not attending the personal hearing won't have helped). It wouldn't have mattered if the appeal had been heard on 1st September, he'd still have had to serve the full ban. Everything else was a smokescreen by the club.
The current appeal is simply an attempt by Stanley to stay in the JPT. The news that the Stockport game has been postponed pending the hearing is good news. It means that we must have some form of defence under the competition / FA rules which gives us a realistic chance of getting off. Quite what that can be I can't think. Every precedent I've ever come across would have us "bang to rights" and I'd still say it's long odds against a reprieve.
