Ressie tonight

Preston Superstars 0 - Accy heros 1

Preston's superstars were beaten beaten by Peter Murphy's boys at Bamber Bridge tonight.

A 2nd half goal from the number 4 Max, following the usual right wing corner routine in which Murph's shot was parried by the keeper and the ball droppeed to the Accy 4 who fired home.

A solid performance all round, with first team squad memebers Micheal Hall + Zak Riley solid in defence. DJ Chris, Murph and Leam R (playing in an attacking midfield role) held there own against a PNE team containing many household names ( Trotman.Chaplow, Russell, Parkin + Parry)
Keeper Josh made a couple of good late saves, to gain the Reds their 1st League points of the season.

Well done Phil, Asa and the boys!!

PS Dan, do I qualify for a pint?

Preston North End | Team | Reserves | Reserves | PNE Res 0 Accrington Stanley Res 1

A more comprehensive report from PNE, but the tone is similar; "our boys" won v the PNE superstars!!

Re: Ressie tonight

The Stanley lads played well. A lot of the of the young Preston team are highly regarded but the Accy lads outfought them and for large parts of the 2nd half, outplayed them.

Preston had 5 first teamers on view, but frankly they looked like they didn't want to be there and just weren't up for the battle.

Good win and the lads were well pleased with their efforts at the end. The PNE coach, David Unsworth acknowledged to the Stanley bench at the end that the best team had won.

They play at Clitheroe though don't they ? It was mentioned on another site the other day that they were on about going to Ramsbottom but don't know how true that is.

Taken from 'Stanley Reserves' page on fishy site:-

All our home matches will be played at the Crown Ground. Please call 01254 356950 on the day of a game to check that there aren't any changes made at short notice, particularly in the winter months.
