RIP Hinckley Town

When was the last time we played them?

BBC Sport - Hinckley United wound up over debts of more than £200,000

Re: RIP Hinckley Town

A lot of good clubs have gone to the wall.
Kettering Town, Rushden and Diamonds, Weymouth, Chester City, Darlington...

I hope we have clauses in the contracts of all the players on 2 year deals that if we go down we can release them.

I was talking to a Barnet fan who said the club realise they made a mistake in giving Graham Stack and some other players a 2 year deal on good 4 figure salaries.
They are struggling to pay it in the Conference.

Re: RIP Hinckley Town

Barnet also got stuffed by its local Council by being kicked out of the ground, to help pay for attracting some bunch of rugby union hoorays to town. They're now playing at their training ground.
Presume Mr Davids also left, or has he stuck around?

Re: RIP Hinckley Town

I take it all back. The rich London barstewards appear to be playing at a brand new stadium and still have Davids as player coach. So much for feeling sorry for them.

Re: RIP Hinckley Town

It is their training ground but they've stuck up a stand and floodlights that are bigger than were permitted by the council and have been told to take them down again.

There was a video posted on twitter of Kurtis Guthrie running rings around him and making him look well stupid when playing for Welling.

As far as I know, Kettering Town still HAVE a football club that plays at Rushden's old ground, Chester City new club [admittedly] are in the Conference and Darlington are in the lower reaches of the northern league.

Re: RIP Hinckley Town

Kettering are in the Southern League Central Division (hardly an amateur league) Not sure where they're playing but it's not Rushden's old ground. They couldn't afford the rent and moved out.

RR thanks for correcting my mistake, they only briefly played at Nene Park, however as you say have moved to a ground in Kettering.

DAV007, if you are talking of phoenix clubs then what about Accrington Stanley and Aldershot Town?
