Re: Rochdale away thread

Great result and a clean sheet.

Torquay lost again, so a win on Saturday would really bring other teams into the relegation battle.

In theory, everyone from Morecambe down (46 points) can still be involved.

I'll say it was joyous. as others have said, even stevens in the first 75 mins, then Lee M comes up with 2 crackers in 3 minutes and almost had a 3rd, but for the post, but for once, one of the team was following up, take a bow Rommy Boco. Great support from Accy, would like to know the numbers. Roll on Saturday and another potential 3 points against Torquay. Kep the belief and keep Lee M in the team and Monsieur Linganzi. Only had a cameo role tonight but what a talent he has including tackling. On the Dale site they said they were expecting a bruising encounter, well they were the ones doing the bruising.

Re: Rochdale away thread

Just in from the game,so here goes-----get in you beauty !!!To be fair both teams look nervous and no one was prepared to take a risk.
Don't know when Hughes was injured, but he seemed reluctant to push up and this caused murph and joyce all kinds of problems, with rochdale passing and moving in the open areas, they were at times all at sea.
Far play to Leam who saw this and Boco was pulled in to help.
This then let there fullbacks push on and this caused a few headaches, but the our fullbacks were wired in.
Hughes going off actually helped us as our starting position was higher up the pitch, and Aldred was excellent, tough, uncompromising, with a bit of class as well, him and dean marshalled the lads in front of them,to create a solid base.
The game turned on Leams substitutions, bringing on moly,he blocked off the left channel, the new lad went in centre mid, which gave us presence and Rommy went up top and his pace caused them real problems.
You will never see two better strikes for the goals,I said from day one, moly had the best left foot I had seen in a young player, and now he has delivered.
I hope the ones who didn't go get to see them, absolute quality.
To sum up,poor game upto Leams subs, but its three points and is our luck changing!!!

Stanley fans were in good voice and the best song of the night was "You should have stuck with Coley!" Priceless.

Re: Rochdale away thread

BBCSPORT breif match report... Lee Molyneux scored two stunning goals as Accrington defeated Rochdale to move out of the League Two relegation zone.
Dale had the better of the first half with both Ritchie Jones and Jason Kennedy glancing headers wide and Terry Gornell flashed just wide of the post.
Molyneux, on as a second-half substitute, scored his first from long range, smashing into the top corner.
The former Everton trainee drilled in a 25-yard free-kick before midfielder Rommy Boco stroked home a third.
Keith Hill's side looked much more likely to open the scoring and dominated possession, while Stanley managed only one effort on target in the first period.
But the introduction of full-back Molyneux on 60 minutes changed the game as his two long-distance strikes handed Accrington their first win in eight attempts and lifted Stanley out of the bottom two. Well done Stanley more of the same on saturday please

I think maybe those on 46 will probably get another 4 or 5 points to be safe. You got to think Rochdale on their current form must be looking over their shoulders

Re: Rochdale away thread

Went to Rochdale and was wishing I hadn't bothered . By half time I would have settled for a draw . Rochdale kept possession , we looked as though we were frightened of them .Rochdale seemed sure to score.
In the second half we came out all guns blazing , but didn't last long. Leam then went to plan B , he brought on two subs , Bingo , game on !! Rochdale must have wondered what had hit them , Molyneux found that net and the Stanley fans went electric, a free kick followed , again Molyneux with his left foot , curled that ball round the wall , what a beauty , Rochdale fans now start to leave the stadium , but we were now on a high and Boco made it 3 - 0 , FT and all three point came home to Stanley. My suggestion for future games, Leam start with plan B , it worked.
